Hi all,

I am currently completing small domestic electrical works but I am am frequently being asked to complete bigger jobs such as consumer unit replacements. I feel like its time I ought to think about moving forwards and getting myself qualified to carry out these jobs.

I understand that bigger jobs are covered by part P building regs? I know that I can notify the council and pay an extra fee to get these jobs approved but it seems sensible to go with a scam in order to keep things simple (and it also seems awkward to tack the fees on to job quotes). What do I need to do to join a scam? I have my C+G 2330 lvl 3, AM2, 17th ed and 2391.

Many Thanks,
Jon

Depending when you did your lvl3 you may need the NVQ lvl3?
Then all you’ll need to do is call a scam and register.
I completed it in 2014. And It was an NVQ that I did as part of an apprenticeship.

Thankyou for the advice Sharpend.

If you have the NVQ lvl 3, 2330 lvl 2&3, AM2 and your 2391 then you have all the qualifications needed, so just read up on your preferred scam and see what they want as entry requirements to supplement the fee and away you go.
Apparently Stroma was the cheapest, not sure if that still stands but there you go.
