It came with a loose earth cable that was part of the fixture .
However on the bracket there is no screw terminal , neither is there anything to attach it to ,
inside the shell of the base .
I know that the earth is giving problem as the light won't switch on at all .
I heard they're changing the law and all landlords in future will have to put themselves on the landlord registry . To prevent pensioners and ppl on assistance from being refused affordable housing and part of that is having to produce gas and safety certificates .

Whilst upgrading 1gang socket fixings I noticed that the new component is slightly larger than the previous .
Thus the faceplate won't clip on . It was already a tight squeeze before where I've got a row of sockets
I've checked there are no two core cables . The earth's are tucked to the side into screw connectors .
I have 2 three core cables . The one coming in from the top is sleeved neutral , a brown then E
