Earth connection on Metal light fitting

It came with a loose earth cable that was part of the fixture . However on the bracket there is no screw terminal , neither is there anything to attach it to , inside the shell of the base . I know that the earth is giving problem as the light won't switch on at all .

    Re-wiring

I heard they're changing the law and all landlords in future will have to put themselves on the landlord registry . To prevent pensioners and ppl on assistance from being refused affordable housing and part of that is having to produce gas and safety certificates . Not saying that properties...

1gang metal Pattress boxes in kitchen too close together to fit faceplate . How do I move one a little to left .?Please advise

Getting an electrician to cover the job as I want it completed by ; is easier said than done . You literally have to book 3-4 months in advance after a quote .They are too picky and not about client satisfaction .Often grudgeful that the resident can keep up with the newest fixtures and...

1gang metal Pattress boxes in kitchen too close together to fit faceplate . How do I move one a little to left .?Please advise

As far as product reviews go I don't just go with what the tradesman likes or the regular jobber because I know myself and what my skill levels are .Also I know my hands are weak I'm liable to mishandle or drop anything heavier than a cordless drill .Which rules out angle grinders . I looked...

You haven't experienced fitting the range from Trendiswitch .They are a trusted brand Your comment makes no sense if you've never fitted one .And it hasn't got the clip on faceplate yet

1gang metal Pattress boxes in kitchen too close together to fit faceplate . How do I move one a little to left .?Please advise

Thanks for the links. I wasn't happy with the angle grinders I've seen .A multi tool looks ideal and has plenty of attachments . I have a choice between Dremel .Ryobi and Parkside

1gang metal Pattress boxes in kitchen too close together to fit faceplate . How do I move one a little to left .?Please advise

I got a macAllister MSMCS 500 but it's way to heavy like you said . I went to Aldi and my local branch can't sell items with blades . Luckily I got on the internet and watched some DIY rekt before browsing grinders . They are way too shaky and unstable even the ones with handles Most of them...

1gang metal Pattress boxes in kitchen too close together to fit faceplate . How do I move one a little to left .?Please advise

My problems are with the size and weight of my multi-tool in such a precarious position, over the kitchen worktop tucked away into the corner . I will have to nip to Aldi or Lidl and pick up a cheap Ferrex or Titan to cut away at the tile . They did a real neat job on this . It's flush behind...

1gang metal Pattress boxes in kitchen too close together to fit faceplate . How do I move one a little to left .?Please advise

Hi . Whilst upgrading 1gang socket fixings I noticed that the new component is slightly larger than the previous . Thus the faceplate won't clip on . It was already a tight squeeze before where I've got a row of sockets

Replacing switch plates without a colour guide .

I've checked there are no two core cables . The earth's are tucked to the side into screw connectors . I have 2 three core cables . The one coming in from the top is sleeved neutral , a brown then E The one coming in from the bottom left which is probably under the floorboards is brown-...

Replacing switch plates without a colour guide .

Thanks Chewbacca .I'm popping down to the store to grab a cheap multimeter , as I was only upgrading switches I thought it would be a simple copy and paste job , but because the new component is labelled differently nothings switching on.Thanks you've made it understandable . I figure to do this...

Replacing switch plates without a colour guide .

You click on the photo and find detail by using thumb and index finger to zoom in or out . Also the L2 screw port does seem as if it was used .as overnight it's dropped and loosened. QUESTION: does the downstairs inserts need to match the upstairs? I have blue and grey together in L2 and BLK...
