I have added a new circuit to an installation and want to sign it off - As I never carried out the initial work (which is up to current standards 17th), do I just issue an electrical installation cert' etc. for my work only?
I want to add a socket to a ring main. Would i be ok to to put a socket with built in RCD protection on my work? The ring is currently protected by BS3631 fuses with no RCD protection - the client doesn't want to upgrade anything else!

I got this from a technician regarding a generator I bought :
'They have a floating chasis, therefore need to bond neutral and earth at the socket for RCD's to work.'
Does this mean I need to connect Neutral to Earth at the outlet of the generator, and then connect to my D.B. - as opposed to...
I want to install a 5kva generator into a farm yard stable with no other means of power - to provide light. Any ideas on the best - easiest way to do this?
