"old" C&g Qualifications, And What Came After Them.....?

Hello, hope somebody can help me with a little bit of history... I'm trying to find out out when the old C&G 2360 Pt1 & Pt2 qualifications began and ended, and what replaced them, and when. Also - and I know comparisons can only be approximate - what is the nearest equivalent to the...

Electricity and water - a marriage made in Hell ???

Thanks to everyone who replied to my post - much food for thought! I was hoping to get back on site to investigate further, but my mate/the owner has become a bit pig-headed for some reason, and is resistant to any further intervention, as he says he isnt really that bothered (!!!) What can we...

Getting started - Qualification(s) for domestic sparks

Yep, EDF will let you subscribe to a 3,6,9,12,15 or 18kw supply, which is dictated by the mm2 of the supply cable, with variously rated incoming fuses fitted accordingly (e.g 45A on monophase 9kw supply). But how anyone can live a 21st century life on anything less than 9kw beats me....

Getting started - Qualification(s) for domestic sparks

Hi Sparkytim - Many thanks for your reply to this post, and likewise to my earlier post re. the fish pools (the koi are fine, but I'm worried about an impromptu fry-up if someone standing outside the tank tries to fish them out! But seriously, I'm with you on the 'good overhaul of the set up'...

Getting started - Qualification(s) for domestic sparks

Hi, I was recently asked by someone who is moving back to the UK from France -and thinking about a mid-life career change - what are the current, essential 'must have' qualifications to set up as a sole-trading domestic installer in England? (I've been in France for years, so I couldn't give a...

Electricity and water - a marriage made in Hell ???

Hi folks! A mate of mine keeps ornamental koi, and is having some problems on the water + sparks front.... The general installation at the site is on the French 230v, radial set-up, which has at some time been converted from 3-phase to mono, and has then been progressivly bodged, patched-up...

    Purely by Fluke?

Thanks again for all your comments/suggestions etc. Have since found an unused/in-box clearance stock 'old' model 1652 on e-bay for

    Purely by Fluke?

Thanks for the welcome & comments, folks! If it's really just the leads, and there isn't any major functional or practical difference between the two, then it seems logical to forego the shiny new 'B' model and save a few

    Purely by Fluke?

Have got the chance to pick up an end-of-line 'old' model Fluke 1652 or 1653 installation tester but all the on-line marketing spiel is telling me that these have now been replaced by the 'new & improved' 1652B and '53B respectively. Given the difference of a few hundred pounds between the...
