    Electricians Mate Wages

Just looking for a bit of advice/wisdom from some self-employed electricians. I'm currently training to be an electrician and I'm 22, I'm funding all of my tuition at college (because I do and adult evening course because of my age etc and the unavailability of any funding or apprenticeships in...

    Garage And House Rcd Issues

No I don't yet have any I'm afraid, but I may be able to borrow some. I was thinking it may be worth running an insulation resistance test and an earth loop...?

    Garage And House Rcd Issues

Thanks for your suggestions, in hindsight now I do realise that it is a bad design having two RCD's like that. I think moving the outbuilding MCB in the house to the non RCD protected side of the CU and then keeping the RCD in the gym could be a good way to go.  The chop saw is a very recent...

    Screwdrivers

Thanks for all of the feedback guys, it's really helpful, I think I'm gonna go for a set of CK Dextro screwdrivers, they do an 8 piece set that looks like it will set me in good stead.

    Screwdrivers

Yeah so it seems, I was after an apprenticeship but didn't land any of the ones I applied for (waaaah). So just sorted out college and got on with it that way!

    Screwdrivers

Thanks for a quick reply, I'm doing my NVQ L2 at college in the evenings at the moment and doing some work experience as and when with a local domestic electrician. As far as the screwdrivers go they're both VDE tested to 1000v so it's probably much a muchness!

    Screwdrivers

I'm a trainee electrician and am looking into buying my first set of tools etc. I'd like to get some CK screwdrivers to start off with and have found some well priced ones (brand new) on eBay, but can anyone tell me the difference between their Triton XLS range and the DEXTRO range? If it's...
