A Few Things I Found The Other Day.

Customer who owns a resteraunt phoned me the other day, saying the guys who work there had seen sparks upstairs and the sockets are now not working. When I got there they took me upstairs and showed me a 4 way extension lead which had two joins in it. They had joined each wire together by...

Anyone Know Where I Can Get One Of These?

Update. Kerching, the LAP company in Brum have nothing to do with LAP electrical accessories. Screwfix say that they are their own brand and are imported. Even though the wiring instructions for it show how to wire one with a flex outlet on it, they don't actally make one. I have found a...

Hi A customer has bought some LAP brushed S/S sockets, cooker point, etc. but a matching 20 amp DP switch does not have a flex outlet on it for a storage heater. She got them from S...Fix. I have searched the internet, but seem to be drawing a blank. Does anyone know if they are available...

    Bathroom Extractor Fan (No 2)

Hi It's not a big bathroom approx 2.5 x 3.5Mts The insulation is fine, I checked that all the ceiling and ducting is covered and that there is ventilation coming up from the soffit into the loft area

    Bathroom Extractor Fan (No 2)

Hi all The new one would have its own ducting and I would put in seperate isolators. The existing fan is a vent axia silhouette with timer. extraction rate 75 cubic Mts/Hr The minimum I recomend are the manrose mixed flow inline fans, or similar, extraction rate 245 cubic Mts/Hr. Anything...

    Bathroom Extractor Fan (No 2)

They said that they have the window open as well as the fan, so it is draging air in as well.  But, they want both fans going in tandem, so who am I to argue? So I take it no one can see why it would be a problem to have both on the same FCU?

    Bathroom Extractor Fan (No 2)

The minimum I've told them to get is 250m3/Hr

    Bathroom Extractor Fan (No 2)

That's my thoughts really. I did say to them when I put the original in, that a bigger one woud be better. Not only that but we re wired the house a couple of years ago and asked them if they wanted an extractor fitting into the bathroom, they said no! They want to keep both, they are going to...

    Bathroom Extractor Fan (No 2)

Hi all Just wanted to see what your thoughts are on having two extractor fans running from the same 3A fuse? 6 months ago I Installed a 4" ceiling extractor fan, ducted via the outside soffit. They now realise (even though at the time I told them it would not be man enough) that it is not...

    Dusk Till Dawn Lights

The dusk till dawn lights are on dimmed till someone walks into view then they light up brighter. The entry way/porch is bang outside the front door. With the light being in the porch it would not pick up anyone approaching the porch till they got in there.

    Dusk Till Dawn Lights

Hi all Has any one ever tried to wire a dusk till dawn light with a seperate PIR? My customer wants one inside an entry way where the front door is. She wants it to switch on when leaving by the front door, but to also come on when approaching the entry way. Would it need a special fitting or...
