    It had to happen!

I think the word Evangelical comes to mind.

    It had to happen!

Change is inevitable and we have to accept that as a fact, but I object to being told how I have to change, I believe I am intelligent enough to make up my own mind and investigate the facts for myself, trouble is there is so much miss-information out there.

    Hello and thankyou all.

When I was working for myself I used "EasyCert", I particularly liked the way it would highlight in red if the software thought the readings where incorrect, this was often fat thumbs syndrome.

    Doubts about Socket testing

The RS Pro model was invaluable to trace the MCB's on a four story twenty five roomed house, it took some getting used to, but following the instructions for the unit proved its worth and no need for walkie talkies. 😜

    Doubts about Socket testing

RS components have a piece of kit that plugs into a remote socket and indicates the MCB its connected to at the DB, can't find it on the web site at the moment, but will dig mine out later and see if its identified and post a link.

    Another reason to avoid Smart!

Just a thought, if the mud flats stay covered in water does that not indicate that the tidal flow is not being utilised to its full extent? We already have a Thames barrier that can be closed off in segments, one closed and a coffer dam behind it could then have a generator installed, do this...

    Another reason to avoid Smart!

We keep hearing about a windfall tax on energy companies and accept this as a good thing, BUT who is going to benefit from this tax, bet your life it will not be the consumer.

    Separate DBs

Don't know why anyone install's AC type RCD's anymore when RCBO's are the way forward for each circuit, I had to replace three SPD's in France in one installation, culprit was near Lightning strikes, the SPD's are a substantial cost, especially on three phase.

    Earthing Rod

All very interesting, but how do you prevent any of this happening? Especially if you have no gas and polypropylene water pipes, TNCS system, underground copper oil pipes between the tank and boiler all bonded to the CU, my brain hurts. If it matters a full RCBO board.

    Earthing Rod

In rural France the electrical provider does not supply an earth and leaves it to the householder.

    Tools Explained

I was sent out for a set of compass gaps, I was not as gullible as they thought at 15, I cut out some circles and presented them to them.

    Domestic rewire

That explains the arrogance then. 🤣
