Thanks Phil d. As it happens client has cut back on one of the appliances(9kw) so it eases the problems with space(and loading)

Sorry Murdoch still trying to get hang of this site using a phone. But u think it ok using t an e for installation an fitting a couple of isolators under counter(got about 11 above counter)?

Thanks all. The cu is existing me just reusing it but planning on having a removable surround for access. Can I ask what u think about the isolators/local isolation being fitted under counter( in kitchen unit along with instantaneous water heater)? Got other isolators mounted above counter but...

Wish I had a pic to send. Aye the office exists as a standard square box with cu already existing but it was decided(to reduce time on site) that two plywood walls(framed out) would be created off site with holes cut as nesseccary to accommodate equipment, etc. Me runs cables prior to plywood...

The cu is existing. Swa from upstream mains and not possible to move. My background is more housing so just concerned I may have overlooked something obvious

Me now doing a job of converting a meeting room(a room within a large commercial office. Perhaps 10? Years old) into a cafe. Very lacking in space for this fit out so equipment space is valuable. One of my concerns is the location of the existing Am 3 cu- sited above a metal sink. The cu will...

Gez, thank u all for all the thought provoking info.. Curious about the breakout boot. Would that comply with the manufacturers instructions and would the cable end(one with the boot on) require access for inspection?

Sorry sidewinder. Swa Glanded/earthed at meter end(Bronco type cupboard) with the idea of bringing the swa in through the rear of the cu and then terminating it. Instead of the swa being brought out of the partician and glanded into the side of the cu. Purely just to hide the big black cable

    Mr S.Parks

Then if no gland used at mains end and if partition acts as a enclosure(for the prepared mains rear cable entry) then do u think it would be compliant with bs 7671?  The swa being glanded/earth at cable head. Thank you for your time Murdoch but if you or any other learned collegues have any...

Thanku all for your thoughts and time esp sidewinder- nicely explained. Excuse my ignorance but, can I make the swa gland of behind the mains and within the partitian if said partition is considered an enclosure? Perhaps stick a swa gland on(not connected to earth but just to tidy the armour...

Morning all. Doing a job just now which will involve terminating swa in the mains(8 properties) It's 25mm 3 core swa and domestic mains. It would be nice if it could be hidden in the partician instead of surface mounting and entering via the incomer knockout. All I can think of is making the...
