Thanks mate. Yeah it’s geographical we have teams based on area. For example I am London based so do stores within the m25 close to the store nearest to my home.

Installs would happen out of hours, there’s a on call system but PPMs, leaks, general maintenance is done in store hours.

This is the Tesco HVAC/Refrigeration apprentice job lol. They allocated me a van and I am shadowing an Engineer whilst attending college.

Update on the job. Been on the apprenticeship for 4 weeks now and I’m loving it. So good to have work experience, whilst going college and shadowing an experienced engineer whilst being paid!

i was 31 when I started my retraining adventure. 34 now and doing a hvac apprenticeship. Go for it.

So I never got much of an update today. Spoke to my line manager and informed them of my auto licence. Manager said that the assumption would be the fleet team would have ordered me an auto transmission after the dvla check. They will contact the fleet team to let them know but that’s all I know...

I applied for the job as it stated Full Driving Licence required. Didn’t specify auto or manual. Thanks for all the info and advice. I have informed them. Will most likely find out today, will keep thread updated with what happens.

So are the only auto transmission vans out there electric ones ? They did state you need a full uk licence but I am sure that an auto still classed as a UK full licence.

Hi Andy, I passed on auto. I understand but I disclosed all this at the beggining of my application. They did a dvla check which shows the restrictions on my licence and I was still offered the job. That’s why I’m wondering if they issue automatics because why would they proceed with me...

That’s what I assumed but when I applied they did a dvla check on my licence and I have an only automatic licence. Do you think they could have overweighted this ?
