Evening all,
Just been to look at a CU change job today and took a quick Zs reading on a number of socket outlets (only one ring final circuit). On a few of the sockets, I got a reading slightly above (1.6 ohms) the maximum recommended in the OSG for what will be 60898 MCB's. Am I right in...
I think this is a great idea and I for one would certainly be interested in looking at the results. Video is an ideal format for demonstrating things that are too difficult to explain in just words or pictures - making a SWA gland springs to mind immediately, though I'm sure there are loads...
Evening all - hope everyone had a happy Christmas.
I plan to refurb our bedroom early in the new year, but have no real wall space to work with to mount a flat screen TV (the TV won't be huge). I guess one option is to mount it on the ceiling with some kind of a retractable bracket, though...
Cable fault! Although simple LAN tester proved continuity OK, I'm guessing there must be too much noise or interference along its run (something to bear in mind for the future). Another temporary lead proved fine.
wsoppitt,
As you may have gleaned from the responses so far, there is no magic solution. Don't forget, marketing is often very geographic - what works in one area might not in another. The best advice I can offer is try the various (affordable) local advertising and measure your results. I...
Evening all,
I have a National Electronics 4 CH DVR (NLDVR3004X) which was given to me a while ago, which I beleive is now obsolete. When rewiring my house I dropped a Cat5 line in which I'm now trying to connect. I've made the RJ45 connections pin for pin and tested them for continuity OK...
Sorry Andy, what I meant was when the CU was first installed and commissioned, the borrowed neutral would have been immediately obvious to whoever installed it. He hasn't stated if its a new install, unless I'm misreading something.
Surely a borrowed neutral would have always caused both circuits to trip. I'd be asking how long has the system been working for without tripping and when did the fault start occuring?
A sad reflection on our increasingly letigious (what big word for a Thursday!) society. He's probably been watching those dodgy 'legal' claims adverts on Freeview. Do what you thinks right - your offers seem more than generous. He obviously won't be a repeat customer, but from what you said...
