    New cable

Mort2376 you could not use the CPC to strip the cable, (do people still do this?) Always 👍

    wiring terminology question

Or in testing terms, the incoming line is attached to the outgoing CPC and the outgoing line is attached to the incoming CPC in a figure of 8 manner when testing a ring final.

    Heat resistance behind a cooker

Galvanised steel trunking or conduit would be my suggestion. Obviously they will stand out from the wall but so would any other surface mounted solution. Both can be painted to match the wall colour.

    Going Back To work

I think there is definitely a need for this course amongst the generation Z and upwards. I wish you luck but don’t hold out much hope that you’ll still be sane at the end of it!!!

    Allowed time for commercial eicr

But it is your problem. You’re the one carrying out and signing the eicr therefore you’re the one who’s going to get sued. I’d suggest that you carry out only those you can accurately complete in the time you’ve got and if they don’t like it find another job.

    Joining different size cables

I suspect it is more to do with the thermal effect on the cable in the extra insulation rather than the expected draw.

    Work trousers

+1 for Engelbert Strauss. Not cheap but fit well, wide legs, and last forever.

New, electricians must have tool. A cat.

I wonder if you can hire them. Handy on occasions but definitely don’t need one in my life.

I like to use JCC V50 integrated. Easy to install, fire rated and IP rated for bathrooms.

Can’t say I do high miles although I work in a rural area. I’m probably doing 10k a year.
