    6mm main earth

Yeah, the bonding doesn't go back the head. It goes back the board. Just l'n + e to the cu. Gas and water go back to here. So, yeah the main earth is just that. It's a pme head so cne up to head then sne out to board. I think I'm going to try and see if it will pull in, if not just note is on...

    6mm main earth

Following on from my cable I'd question. Same property. Landlord has agreed to replacing the CU. However the main earth is 6mm. 80a head, PME supply, 16mm tails. Earth is fine by the adiabatic and has no signs of over heating. Supplying a CU that is in a small two bed flat with 4 circuits. 40a...

It is indeed Hi Tuf. I'll be honest I've never heard of it and it's the first time I've ever come across it. Thanks all.

Can someone ID this cable please?

Hi all, Carried out an EICR today. Wired mainly in this cable. Can anyone ID it? Never come across. Wired in 1979. All tested OK. Just wired to old regs.  Regards Rutts

    To bond or not bond

In BS7671 the fire risk is both evacuation and fire fighting but it isn't an issue in our building to be honest. Plus we already have 100mtrs of galv trunking to use up!! As for the metallic trunking. Fair point. The only issue I have at the moment, as mentioned above, is that the partition is...

    To bond or not bond

Granted it isn't extraneous but the trunking will be screwed to the top of the framework. So will this pose a problem as the frame work is now an extension of the trunking in terms of continuity or is this no an issue as we will have bonded the trunking? I've just had another look at what's...

    To bond or not bond

We are installing some metal partitioning in work. It's powder coated frames with glass inserts around 7ft high. It's mounted on an existing parquet flooring and bolted through to the concrete slab underneath. Now, I'm pretty sure, when I test it that it will be isolated from the MET so it won't...
