Dodgy solar panel mount?

Hi all,

I joined for some advice if at all possible from experienced solar fitters.

I've paid a company whom I won't mention the name of to perform an installation.

The panels look so high from the roof, approx 20cm. I attach a pic of the bracket and how they have been mounted.

Have they used incorrect brackets? I have no experience with solar before and have no idea what should be used, all I know is that they look like they are floating from the roof.

Is there ability to lower them on that bracket. I've never seen panels this high. the sparky said the same, wire fitter said the same...

Also read regs that 200mm is the maximum they can be above the tile roof. They are on the limit.

Just make sure you get the pigeon netting / mesh installed or you’ll have lots of nests under there

Hello, you see in the pics the mesh is already installed. It's siting without the curl you normally see as the panels are are mounted so high, just meets the tile. Mesh itself is 200mm wide.

Looks like they could be dropped about 50mm on the bracket, plus depth of the frame.
Some frames just sit higher than others. That's not a frame I've used, so hard to comment. Complain before the scaffolding comes down.

I looked at the thread on my phone without looking at the individual pictures - may be I need a trip to spec savers

Huge issue ,Murdoch is 100% make sure it's netted.

What reg would that be?

Hey, this one I'm referring to.

Company are saying it's in regs. Which it probably just about is. It doesn't look right though does it? Even the electrician's and mesh fitter said it's the highest they had seen panels mounted.

The mesh only just reached the tiled roof.

Where is that from? That also says panels must be 1m from edge of roof, which isn't true, 300mm is the recommended distance, or at least it was when I did my training course, and even that isn't strictly true if you fit enough roof hooks to over come any wind issues ( it's best avoided but more due to the edges of the roof being difficult to work with).
