Hi,

I need to obtain a ECS card and have some questions;
  • has anyone taken a course for this card before taking the test?

  • does anyone know any good revision books to read from before taking the test?

Can someone explain how I can get a IPAF qualification?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you

well the 'course' to get ECS would be electrical qualifications. the 'test' is elf n safety. if you fail then its probably a good thing youre not woking on sites

for IPAF, find your local IPAF training centre and do the required training/test for the category you want

Ive wasted nearly all day finding out that CSCS Card wont work because its not for electricians. Just needed to renew my ECS card which they still wont on my ECS 🥴

Another tip I think CITB health and safety is not neeeded for ECS card 😂

the H&S test for ECS & CSCS are different. the ECS one is aimed at electrics, CSCS isnt

The ECS is electrical biased but it covers other very basic health and safety stuff like:
A colleague falls from a ladder what do you do.
A. Laugh at them.
B. Tell your mates so they can also laugh.
C. Tell the nearest first aid representative (obviously not this one).
D. Turn the other way and pretend you didn't see the incident.

You can download the entire exam and just revise the questions and answers. They're multiple choice so you basically need to remember which one A-D is correct

can you? I think that there are over 300 questions and they move the answers around, so you have to know the answer not just the letter for the answer ,

by the way i see that you can do this online now, so you can do it from anywhere you want

I did an ECS nice and sort of fell out with the invigilator, most unlike me!
All,I,wanted to know was did he want the correct answer that he was expecting? Or what I would do, as that was how the question was worded???

Example
Injury what do,you do
HIS answer 'contact first aider,' MY answer 'sort it myself since at the time I was a qualified offshore diving medic and allowed to,intubate and set up drips"

Damaged flex on drill. HIM report to,supervisor . ME fix it myself as it's what I do,for a freqking job

And so it went on

Just saying

That’s what you get from the unskilled teaching the skilled………….

I’m sure my careers advisor at school said it should be the other way round but what do I know??

i got my cscs card a few years ago , you do some health and safety revision online questions and answers ( pretty basic really just common sense ) went to test centre , sat test and passed , not too painfull at all , maybe your overthinking it a bit , but like everything in life , you have to do a bit of leg work yourself , but when i applied for my ecs labourers card (think thats what its called now ) you could use the citb health and safety qualification to gain it ,so long as it was within 1 or 2 years of doing the citb test , give the jib a ring just to make it clear,
regarding ipaf just find your local ipaf training centre and book the course , only takes a day for 2a/2b
good luck

Hi does anyone know if this app covers ECS questions?
