AMD 2 - time to flex your credit cards?

If that is the case I would wager a rather large bet that the German version is written much clearer ............... so that's not an excuse the IET can hide behind

AMD 2 - time to flex your credit cards?

Not moaning, trying to have a constructive dialogue about something that is SO important, but because the way its written and the way its updated SO many people have had enough and then we wonder why sparks decide to use such different interpretations .............. As for Sidewinders input -...

Dimmable Low Voltage Downlights For a Bathroom?

7 x 93 lumens = 651 lumens per unit - that IS bright Firstly don't bother with integrated throw away lights - they are the work of the devil and are not as reliable as manufacturers make out! I would suggest you go for downlights with changeable GU10 light bulbs then, when they fail, which...

    Need more sockets

TBH its really tricky to give concrete advice about this sort of question. I would suggest you have 2 or 3 sparks round to look at your house, its construction and see what they suggest and quote Sorry if this isn't too helpful and be aware that asking for 9 sockets could be interpreted in...

AMD 2 - time to flex your credit cards?

Well if the IET has its hands tied behind its back who sets the rules - because they need to get into the 21st century

AMD 2 - time to flex your credit cards?

er no. I always complain about the seriously poorly written regulations … as I previously stated you seriously don’t get it

AMD 2 - time to flex your credit cards?

you seriously don’t get it do you? it’s not about the money, it’s about the far too often updates of poorly written regulations and little or no attempt to sort out earlier errors the book needs a serious re write, and made far easier to understand , because the newbies don’t have the...

AMD 2 - time to flex your credit cards?

continually bending over and being shafted isn’t good either 😂😂 as I stated earlier , I have choices …. and saying nothing isn’t an option as we are entitled to free speech, and my views will never change

AMD 2 - time to flex your credit cards?

Well, I see more and more installations being changed but not to the 18th let alone farce called AMD 1. It’s generally the younger types doing this too but then I don’t really care any more, mortgage free in about 3 months so I’m going to work 12 days a month, drop my cps membership , and do...

    PV Installation question

OP do you have a hot water tank? If so adding a device like the SOLIC 200 means you divert excess production to your immersion heater before you export too. This is our set up and we rarely use the boiler for hot water in the summer months

AMD 2 - time to flex your credit cards?

So now AMD 2 has gone to print the powers that be will be dreaming up more changes to justify AMD 3 this is one serious gravy train

    Is this reasonable?

I think you have answered your own question - you failed to get a price before starting has said spark provided any certificates?

Interconnected smoke detector pairing (make: ANKA)

Before read this thread I'd never heard of this product. For the benefit of anyone reading this there is only 1 real solution for alarms and they are made by Aico - with decent reliable products and local support - they may be more expensive but a very small price to pay to potentially save lives.

    What's your go-to downlight?

And then there are sealed floodlights - they are almost as bad. In 8 years I have had to replace 3 x 10W LED's with PIR's on our house. Can't wait for a LED floodlight to come out with a customer changeable LED in it

    What's your go-to downlight?

Anything with a customer changeable bulb. Sealed units should be banned
