    New work in old bathroom

Right then, quite a few different opinions so far! Ok so back to my 2 questions,- I was talking about moving from the current cu to a new rcd enclosure, one of the lighting circuits which amongst other rooms supplies the bathroom. This circuit is the only circuit I would need to alter when...

    New work in old bathroom

Hello Folks, I went to look at a job today, the customer wants a shaving/vanity light installed above the sink in the bathroom. The distribution is via rewirable fuses, and not an RCD in sight. I checked the main lighting point in the bathroom, and it hasn

    work vans

Ford Escort 2001 75TD, its ok for what I want it to do, mostly stuck in traffic around London, 350-400 miles per tank. Previous owner was a DNO, so racked out, roof rack, alarm etc. Cheep for parts/tyres etc. New van would be nice though, but need more work first!

Ring final power circuit, where every socket is supplied from junction box is a spur

This time with my attached picture (I hope) I know it sounds odd, it is odd to do it this way! but I am trying not to offend the retired spark, or at least do it his way, if it is permitted. So a JB could be counted as a socket for the purposes of amount of fused spurs allowed per ring you...

Ring final power circuit, where every socket is supplied from junction box is a spur

Hello, I have been asked to rewire a flat, of which the owners dad is an 82 year old retired spark. He wants to help out, to save his daughter (the owner) some money. I met him at the flat and we had a walk around, he seems to know the installation well as has worked on it over the years. He...

    RCCD requirement in existing bathroom.

Hello, My question is (sorry if this seems a bit long winded) - I was called to look at an extractor fan problem installed in a bathroom. It turns out the fan is faulty, and initially I was just going to replace it, and called the client to let her know. As I was driving home I was thinking...

    ring spur

Surely if its a spur from a ring, then in your example, the only way to connect both fcu's would mean that it would then be a spur from a spur. So, starting with the socket connected as part of a ring, spurred to the first fcu, from first fcu on to another fcu (regardless of its proximity to...

How Low (Ze) can you go?

Ok, so went back to the location where I got the .07 ohms reading for Ze, double checked everything, nulled leads etc., and still the same. So I called DNO (EDF) and they said its ok. Since then, today infact, I got .08 ohms, so I am not going to worry any more. Thanks to all those who...
