max load of 10mm and 16mm armoured

Yep defo sounds like he's decided to do it on the cheap! The length of run is the issue and if he does turn the mcb down to 63A it's not leaving alot of capacity on the cable! What size/number of way Sub DB are they feeding? 63A three phase sub DB doesn't sound very big to me, what type of...

max load of 10mm and 16mm armoured

I'd find a new job pal because I wouldn't be putting my name to that install! If your putting a 3 phase DB on end of swa then how the hell does he reckon it'l only have 33A per phase  it could be added to surly? Sounds like a right to55er to me! I'd hate to see how many bits of 3 phase...

max load of 10mm and 16mm armoured

Length to consider aswell but never the less seriously undersized! Clipped direct 16mm basic rating is about 83A! Check your tables in the regs then throw it back at whoever told you this tosh and refuse the job!

    Spur Off Ring

Making the socket outlet your spuring off and rcd would offer no protection to the cable or new socket it would only protect the equipment plugged in. Putting a rcd socket on end of spur again would only give protection to equipment used. No protection to supply circuit. I would go for rcbo...

    kitchen help request

I'm sorry but your attitude is totally out of order! Those pesky regulations are what me and my fellow sparks treat as our bible so to speak! What we have spent years learning. Those pesky regulations are there to keep you and your family safe! And as it is a council grant for your kitchen I'm...

    NVQ Course online.

Obviously I would think most would be working along side sparks and gaining experience. I agree if you just go to collage and do the c&g then the theoretical side will be achieved but I think this is why the nvq is there now to show practical experience. As we know competence comes along way...

    NVQ Course online.

Yes obviously but then there's another bit of turd by the jib. All you had to do to be graded as an approved spark was have 2 years experience and for your boss to say yes grade him and then hello, pay rise! So now many older sparks, although have more experience get more money than others...

    NVQ Course online.

I started my jtl apprenticeship in '99 and qualified in 04, doing c&g levels 2 & 3 along with the regs and completing my apprenticeship with the am2. This got me a jib card graded as electrician, also got the ecs on my jib card. Now to say the nvq is for non academic people is a tad...

    Made redundant today

Like steps said if you go CIS then you will have to do a self assessment at end of year but if and when you go back to PAYE just give them a bell and tell them, you'll then do your SA at end of year to include your CIS wage and your PAYE end of year wage. I'm not all up on that so I just got an...
