One thing is, don't bother with all these online 2391 mock exams you see online as they're way off completely & don't resemble the actual 2391 exams one bit.

Just see that, I wonder why the C&G 2392 is recognised yet the equivalent EAL is not.

Going to have disagree with when you say college lecturers wouldnt have a clue if they turned up on site. Yes I am sure there will be some where they wont have a clue but There are 4 college tutors in my college and all 4 are electrican gold card holders who are in their 40's and 50's who work...

What CPS scheme have you signed up to Gary to allow you to carry out domestic work which will allow you to sign your work off? What city and guilds certificate do you have in testing you say level 3 which is either the 2394 or 2391 which some going for someone who had no experience in the field...

IMHO I think the OP is on a wind up & wouldnt at all be surprised he is a qualified electrician making a point about these short courses. May be wrong Just my opinion. 

Not sure how you roll Tony but I dont normally bill myself for doing work in my own house. I am trainee looking for advice so no I would never be working on other peoples houses for years to come until I am fully qualified.

I am not sure then Andy, I already done an IR before fitting the bulbs and tested for continuity and polarity again any other suggestions? 

Just basically tightening everything back up and making sure terminations were right. Do you recommend another IR test  

In the thread I said about buying cheap LAP Downlights from SF, We'll after closing inspection the neutrals which were already connected in the connector box's were not terminated properly & had a sleeve over them & it wasn't until I removed the sleeve and bingo.

No took all bulbs out and devices unplugged and passed the IR. I really do enjoy fault finding just a pity I am not very good at it as I cant work out why I am only getting readings on 4 of the Downlights. Might have to look at the wiring within the Downlight.

Just done an IR and that all went through smoothly. Got 2000 L/N 2000 L/E 2000 E/N Then I tested at individual Downlights and I am getting a reading from 0.23 from 4 of them then when pressing the switch 2000 which is fine but the other downlights just getting 2000 when pressing the switch on...

Yes Tony I have Kewtech MFT. I wouldnt of said I wished I would've tested them before if I didnt have a tester. Agreed Fully
