Does a single rcd c/u comply with 17th ed ? I have looked thru brb but cant find any where where it actually states dual rcd required, any pointers would be appreciated thanks in advance ps, existing fuse box only has four circuits, cooker, sockets, lights separate up/down cheers, Rob

i CAN SEE EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED NOW, JUST HAD THE FRONT OF THE SOCKET OFF IT WAS AS IAN 932 SUGGESTED, MADE CONTACT WITH EARTH PLATE WHILE PROBING LINE TERMINAL THANKS FOR YOUR TIME GUYS ROB ( WONT MAKE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN)

Thanks for your reply, yes i tested in order, continuity, insulation resistance, etc every thing ok still baffled tester is still working ok as far as i can tell

Could do with some help with this. doing a ZS on radial circuit ,doing everything correct but cant understand why the bang , flash and circuit tripping to go with it ( give me a bit of a fright i must admit) cheers in advance again Rob

Just check for british standards markingS or CE etc , thats all you need to worry about

I may have worded it wrong! what im thinking of is a switch between c/u and meter , not sure if its a fused switch so that work on c/u for example can be done in the future without relying on DNO to remove their fuse Many thanks Rob

This might seem obvious , but thats why im in student and learning zone How do you determine what size fused isolating switch to connect between c/u and meter? my main switch in c/u is 63A , suppliers fuse unknown ! cheers in advance Rob
