    Usually EOL (End Of Line) and any zones not utilised are fitted with EOL CAPACITERS Unused sounder outputs are usually fitted with a RESISTOR of approx 68 ohms all the panels I have ever used utilise the same system

    I think it may be you that is confused, they certainly can be used on a 32A ring!!! Remember 2.5 T&E is rated for 20A, 40 in a ring, that's why we put a 2.5 Radial on 16A Breaker, and a ring on 32A. The rules you speak of are only proper installation methods - not any esoteric high brow...
