    QUIET

I agree but it’s been quiet all year and it’s almost dead at the moment.

    QUIET

Its sad to see this forums demise. Even the fund raising has failed "Talk Electrician Server Replacement Donation Drive $26 of $4000+ needed". For me personally, I'll give it to the end of the year and if it's not revived and back to how it used to be I'll go and seek pastures new. J

    Aircon pipes spanner size

They run on R290 which is propane based, not a greenhouse gas.

    Aircon pipes spanner size

Im sure some of my newer ones are 410a too. I definitely have a bottle/cask of it ;)

    Aircon pipes spanner size

IIRC R290 is a propane based refrigerant.

I'm told there are a few around using propane as a refrigerant and you don't need F-Gas for that?

Need some advice on solar gear

The Switch Mode Power Supply inside your PC. We ran several Bitcoin mining systems (small farm), we used around £5,500 per month in electricity. Researching the power supplies we reduced the heat output, the electricity consumption, the bills dropped to around £4400 per month just by swapping...

1050 kW? are you sure? Thats over 1 MegaWatt, you would need acres of solar panels and a massive battery if that figure is correct.

Need some advice on solar gear

Take a good look at the power supply you have, there are some amazing differences in efficiency.

Financially it's simply not worth it. A 100w panel is at best likely to give you 80w in good conditions. If youre lucky weather wise, that may happen 50% of the time for an average of 6 hrs per day. That gives you a potential energy of around 85 kWh per year which is less than £20 cost. You may...

Do you tighten drinks bottle caps or jam jars with a torque wrench?

    Aircon pipes spanner size

I’m sure all of what you say is theoretically true, in practice however not really needed. I’ve just had £28,000 of AC installed in my commercial premises and all of the joints were tightened by the Armstrong method and an adjustable spanner. This was installed by an AC engineer who I have used...

    Aircon pipes spanner size

Sorry, it's my Yorkshire humour kicking in there. It means tighten the nut until the threads strip or the fitting snaps then remove half of a turn. Sorry J

To be fair, how tight isn’t really an issue, you’re compressing soft copper onto hard brass, you’ll be fine. Up to shearing and back half a turn.

I'm surprised that you dont have to vacuum out the refrigerant lines to remove the air. Definately an imperial adjustable spanner is the tool of choice you can then guarantee the incorrect spanner size for all of the fittings. Here's a guy installing one of these units.

    QUIET

Highly likely Its' quite a dilemma. Sunak & Co dont deserve my vote because of their in fighting from the end of Boris's reign, theyre like squabbling kids, Starmer is a complete non starter, he's a complete *****, Farage whilst I cant stand the man he does actually talk a reasonable talk but...

No solar installs, garden lighting or EV chargers to cable? It's not quiet, its DEAD it's like attending a wake but quieter......

    QUIET

It's gone very quiet round here, nobody changing light fittings ending up with more wires than anticipated, nobody changing switches with different terminals, no diy'ers nailing cables to the wall etc, where is everybody?
