New Growatt SPH + Li6532 Installation queries

Why would they not use grid power? Why use the battery and then switch over to charge mode when the SOC has gone below some predetermined threshold? My Inverter has a standby consumption of 13w from the grid when it's not running (as in not generating or charging).

    Training My Seplos BMS

When you say totally isolated, did you diconnect the BMS and Balancers too? If not they will be taking some power, LiFEP04's also seem to settle a little after charging, this may be what youre seeing.

Down at 4mV youre fine, start using it.

Upgrading home service from 60Amp to 100Amp

60 amp fuse takes 10 minutes to blow with 100 amps going through it ! Im not suggesting it should be a regular practice but a momentary overload is easily tolerated.

Anyone else think this is a daft CU configuration?

Thanks everyone for the reasons not to use dual RCD, I accept totally RCBO is the way to go but I also feel dual RCD is a small improvement over single RCD and some of your responses are just a tad dramatic. I agree in this day and age they’re not a good item to use.

Anyone else think this is a daft CU configuration?

Im taken aback with the responses on here with regards to dual RCD boards. I totally get it that RCBO is preferable but why is dual RCD such a bad thing? It doesnt really seem to be a hanging offence to me.

Can a hybrid inverter charge batteries from a second inverter?

Its actually the other way round, my solar is attached to my Growatt and it charges the battery connected to both. If I had solar connected to the Victron it would be able to charge the Growatt battery, I can actually charge the Growatt battery from the Victron battery but theres no point in...

Can a hybrid inverter charge batteries from a second inverter?

Yes Yes it can. My system has a mix of Growatt Inverter + Solar + Battery and a Victron Inverter + Battery, I can charge either battery from solar or mains etc.

    RFI From Inverter

Aye, one of our neighbours was G3HFD, he had a 600' wire antenna and all homebrew stuff, the valve heaters alone were 4 kW in his shed. He could transmit and then listen and you hear his transmission come back having been around the world in the right conditions. He also used to make filters for...

New Growatt SPH + Li6532 Installation queries

Unfortunately I cant get on the Growatt APP, it says my account is locked. I'm told it's because my home assistant is polling the Growatt server for data and this is how they respond. What I can tell you 100% is that my system doesnt import from the grid at all when the SOC is at minimum unless...

    Battery inverter calculation

You say a series of 12v batteries would only last half an hour, that depends on the capacity, if they were 500a/h for example they would last a lot longer than 30 minutes. The other thing to throw in the mix is the efficiency of the inverter and the battery system, there will be losses...

New Growatt SPH + Li6532 Installation queries

My Growatt battery is usually depleted by mid morning if there's little solar around. Once it's down to minimum it stays there until 23:30 when the AC charging is scheduled. This is typical:

    Top Balance Charger needed

I believe that the Neey one will be better, it's 4 amps as opposed to 2 amps and it's lowering the voltage on the high cell and raising the voltage on the lower ones. I feel it will keep a much tighter grip on the balance. Looking at the Seplos board, it looks like theres 16 relays, one for each...

    Top Balance Charger needed

Sounds good, maybe no need for the Neey one? I've just had a look at the Seplos link, it doesnt work like the Neey one does. The Seplos unit starts feeding 2 amps to the cells below the balance voltage. The Neey one takes current from the highest cell to charge super capacitors and then...

    Top Balance Charger needed

Not the same as mine.... What does the spec say with regard to balancing? mine is only passive and around 120mA which is useless. Looking at your PCB if it was an active balancer it would have a lot if beefy capacitors and I dont see any?
