    Heavy grid loading today

I'm sure they will, I'm somewhat surprised that a saving session hasnt been announced as they did yesterday, it's a great way to earn money propping up the grid.

    Solar for swimming pool

COP of 4.5 is easily achieved for pool heating because the output temperature required isnt very high compared to central heating etc. The OP already has a heatpump so Solar PV seems to be the way he wants to go.

    Solar for swimming pool

Thats my point, if the Solar Thermal was 100% efficient comparing it to 23% efficiency of Solar PV, now put that into a heatpump with a COP of 4.5 the 23% becomes 103.5% which makes it more efficient than the Solar Thermal. Most pool heating heatpumps are rated higher than a COP of 4.5 too. The...

    Solar for swimming pool

But is it higher than panels feeding a heatpump with a cop of 4.5?

    Solar for swimming pool

Even more efficient than a heatpump with cop of around 4.5?

Easy to swap existing (failed) inverter for a new one?

Look here you, stop making out that this highly technical work is easy, some of these guys have spent years perfecting the way to get people to pay them money. If you so much as look at your inverter, the sky will cave in, there will be bolts of lightning everywhere and the world will end :):):)

    Electric towel rail.

I would never be so stupid to make such an incorrect statement, it's not the same Greenedhouse, how on earth do you think Amazon would selling product from a company dissolved 10 years ago, really :):):). The name is now part of:- MANISSA LTD, SUITE2B, NORTH SANDS BUSINESS CENTRE, LIBERTY...

    Solar for swimming pool

I'd assumed it would have cop of 4 to 5 but even so, 9 kW into a swimming pool just seems very low, 10 kW is used for a shower! But, if it works for you, knockout, thats great.

Is a growatt inverter and battery any good?

How odd, battery voltage too is way out of spec. If it's working and youre happy thats great. J

Is a growatt inverter and battery any good?

You may like to have another word with the installer with regards to your last point no limit of 3kW charging/discharging. Growatt data sheets: Inverter Note the DC input from the storage battery 350v to 480v, 10 amps max which suggests the maximum wattage on battery is 2500 to 4800w. There...

    Battery and inverter control software

It's worth having a look and a chat in some of the Victron forums. Theyre full of inverter enthusiasts that fall over themselves to be helpful. Victron tends to me modular too, solar/mppt chargers being separate from the inverter/chargers, lots of nice stuff though to provide in house displays etc.

    Battery and inverter control software

Discharging to the grid is nothing to do with the batteries as I'm sure you know, it's a function of the inverter. The most open and accessible inverter, second to none are the ones made by Victron, the downside is theyre expensive but you can literally do anything with them. I have mine setup...
