Growatt charging from grid or solar problem

I have an SPH6000 with this exact problem. You will find if you monitor the performance of your inverter that at around sunrise and around sunset that you will be importing from the grid no matter how much charge you have left in the battery. Growatt say the inverter is going through a self...

Growatt charging from grid or solar

It will charge to the maximum rate using solar and grid in that order. It's not something I've encountered, it's usually dark or dreadful weather when I'm taking grid import.

Is it worth moving to Octopus Intelligent Go or another tariff?

Yes, thats the app the same as mine. You start the immersion heater at 00:30 and then run for four and a half hours, should that not be 4 hrs for Octopus GO (00:30 to 04:30) ? Any reason why you heat it again at 06:00 for 1 hour? J

Is it worth moving to Octopus Intelligent Go or another tariff?

I would have thought the boost slider needs to be at zero. Im not familiar with the app / program youve screenshot, it looks very different to mine.

Is it worth moving to Octopus Intelligent Go or another tariff?

I cant comment on your battery charging, I have no experience of Solax inverters, I would assume like all the others you simply set a schedule - charge from 00:30 to 04:30 daily. EDDI again is a straight forward setup with one slight exception. With EDDI you set the start time and the duration...

Question about earthing on TT system

I would have thought for isolation, if they used a common spike or a spike close together one spike / earth fault could introduce voltage to the other.

    Octopus energy prices

Aye but £8 per day saving, difficult call, I really wanted to go to Octopus but they wouldn't quote because we have a half hour meter, even though our previous supplier downgraded it to a standard smart meter (allegedly)

    Octopus energy prices

No, just a decent sized retail shop. I couldn't bring myself to pay that amount, I shopped around and the best one I could find was British Gas Lite but that was still over £6. I turned my sights on a generator and batteries running as a CHP plant, one last shop around before going that...

    Octopus energy prices

No problem. Officially youre supposed to have an EV or have one on order for GO as well, they dont check and if asked, youre going to rent one shortly/have one on order etc etc. I know loads of people on GO that dont have an EV or any intention of getting one. You think the standing charge is...

Is it worth moving to Octopus Intelligent Go or another tariff?

It should heat the whole tank no problems at all. If the energy is going into the element it has to end up heating the water.

Is it worth moving to Octopus Intelligent Go or another tariff?

If the immersion heater is at the bottom of the tank thats perfect, it's the ones that are top mounted that dont heat to the bottom. Can you see the immersion taking load i.e. typically 3 kW when its switched on?

Is it worth moving to Octopus Intelligent Go or another tariff?

No apologies needed for asking questions, none of us were born with this sort of knowledge. Saving Sessions: https://octopus.energy/saving-sessions/ You could try increase the thermostat temperature on the immersion heater, this effectively gives you more bath / shower water because you need...

    optimum battery size

A bigger battery wont reduce the amount of charging / discharging that you do, that's set by the amount of energy you use. If you consume 10 kWh in a day you need to charge slightly more to recharge the battery. The same is true no matter what battery size you have. With batteries bigger =...
