Well that’s ruled a dodgy MR16 transformer out of the equation Possible dodgy connection.without test gear I’d be tempted to drop the fitting, connect ONE lamp to ceiling cables and retry. TAKE A PIC OF WIRING BEFORE DISCONNECTING
