An end to MCS dominance in the solar PV market? (self declared exports now available)

Disagree, my electric bill for the last four months is -£600, my gas and electric for July was -£91

An end to MCS dominance in the solar PV market? (self declared exports now available)

No idea if this was the guy that kicked it off, but sound like he put some pressure on them. https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/solar-panels-and-battery-any-real-world-reccomendations.18946524/post-36586394

That's exactly the problem I found as well.

    MCS Scheme Redevelopment...

I'm on Flux, and my electricity costs for the last 120 days is minus £340, and five weeks of that is not on Flux export. Without an MSC certificate I wouldn't be able to get on Flux. If you want a decent export tariff you have to have an MCS certificate (Octopus insist on one), so its good news...

Solis 3kW AC coupled Inverter & Fogstar 5.12kWh Rack Battery ?

If you look at the inverter cables they are connected diagonally, this is so equal current is drawn from each battery, when the third battery is connected the negative inverter cable will be connected to that, and the positive stays on the first as it is.

Solis 3kW AC coupled Inverter & Fogstar 5.12kWh Rack Battery ?

I think I'll stick with my 14.5kWh battery for not much more money. I don't think there's any point paying way over the odds (unless you live somewhere very cold), battery tech is advancing all the time. CATL has a battery with 500Wh/kg, more that twice the energy of a Tesla Model B battery by...

    Help with G99 commissioning forms

It looks daunting, but its not really, you just need to be able to answer yes to each one. We didn't put anything in the additional comments/observation box, and the electrician then signed it.

New Octopus Tariff for Solar and Batteries- Octopus Flux

@johnb2713 I know what you mean, I built batteries and added more solar with the plan of using nothing from the grid for six to nine months of the year, but the Flux Tariff changes all of that. Importing for 21p and exporting at 40p makes good financial sense, especially in the summer months...

    FOGSTAR DISCOUNT

@johnb2713 I'm aware of our legal rights regarding warranty, but as you found out you need to go to court as a lot of companies will try it on (not saying Fogstar would), and I highly suspect with a cell which can very easily be damaged by using the wrong settings it would be a tuff one. My...

    FOGSTAR DISCOUNT

That doesn't always work, Fogstar give a one year warranty on their EVE 280 cells, I suspect because it's just a cell so there is no control how it is used or abused. If you look at Fogstars very nice rack battery (uses Eve 100ah cells), which is very competitively priced it has an 8 year...

New Octopus Tariff for Solar and Batteries- Octopus Flux

Out of curiosity which assistants? I did quite a bit of Googling but only suggestions I found was to use Node Red and the grid set point. I'm using the ESS assistant and I think you have to be careful what other assistants you use with it.

New Octopus Tariff for Solar and Batteries- Octopus Flux

Victron doesn't have scheduled discharging, only scheduled charging. I've used Node Red for scheduled discharging.

    Company in Court

I remember receiving a letter from them, I think they just looked on Google and sent letters to people with panels. Clearly dodgy, glad the law finally, well, will eventually catch up with them.

Solis 3kW AC coupled Inverter & Fogstar 5.12kWh Rack Battery ?

The trouble is its a very complicated subject, if people did their research then it would be plainly obvious why different packs are not compatible with each other, some are but there are other complications. Needless to say the safest option is to say they are not compatible. Take Pylontech...

Solis 3kW AC coupled Inverter & Fogstar 5.12kWh Rack Battery ?

If everyone took notice of that the world would grind to a halt, I work in a commercial workshop, where a lot of things are heavier than that, part of the business is also a removals company, where a lot of items also exceed that even factoring in two people, you need to be sensible, and use the...

Solis 3kW AC coupled Inverter & Fogstar 5.12kWh Rack Battery ?

For one person, yes, but two people, maybe manageable, also depends how high you need to lift it. They've sold plenty of Seplos 280 kits, and they are intended to be stacked, it would be a right pain if you had several stacked and needed to get access to the bottom one though. By my...
