Two 100A incomers , so two Current Transformers ?

You sure it's 2 seperate supplies? How many supply meters have you got? Never seen an extra supply for off-peak. Normally 1 supply that splits at the meter. If this is the case then you would just 1 x ct before the meter.

    Growatt 3600 - String voltages - MPPT1&2

Are the 2 strings on different orientations? With PV panels, the voltage is affected by heat. Could it be that one set in direct sun, so is hotter? therefore voltage could fluctuate a bit. Also, how many panels are on each string? Doesn't a lot of Volts for a string connected to a 3600 inverter...

    RCB blowing,

Yeah, I meant don't touch it with the earth. Good catch ;)

    RCB blowing,

Where's the fun in that? I like to play "don't touch the neutral".
  5. Barx

    RCB blowing,

Yep, all normal. Technically created an earth fault between earth and neutral. An MCB only isolates the Line (Live) conductor. The modern day electrician fears the cpc (earth) more than the Line these days. On split RCD boards anyway. For this exact case. working away on lights, etc and end up...

    Techtronic 9651 alarm

Depends how the system is setup. Many panels can be setup to require engineer reset on tamper. Not very common to see it on domestic though. No real way of telling without just risking doing it. If the require engineer reset on tamper is not set, it will just be a case of resetting it yourself...

1 big batteries or several smaller

Don't quote me on this as I haven't done any battery installs, but i think the possible power output is more reliant on the inverter used. And many of the biggers batteries are made up of smaller unit anyway. Though may not be servicable down to those levels.

Any texacom elite24 experts? Help with texacom smartcom

That's a poly (plastic case). As Andy states above, you should be able to squeeze a 7Ah battery in if the inside of the panel is neat enough.

Assuming it's the metal case version. Not sure you would get a 7Ah in a poly?? Never fitted a poly tbh. But, thinking along the lines of them being a similar case to a Veritas R8 and think they top out at a 3.x Ah battery platform

Poor design if backup battery only lasts 2 hours.

You would need to open the case of the main panel and disconnect on of the leads. Wait a few (or 10) seconds and reconnect. Chances are your bell box will sound and you will get a tamper fault. It is possible to put the panel into engineer mode first to avoid this, but given that you mention...

Try power cycling the panel. I've had it before where is the panel starts up before the router has fully started up, the panel fails to get it's IP address and doesn't seem to try again. If you power cycle now that the router is up and running, there is a good chance it will sort it out.

Eicr and Aluminium Twin & Earth Cables

Yes, wrong terminology, sorry. Though, surely if the copper is on the outside, it would be aluminium rod inside a copper tube ;)

Eicr and Aluminium Twin & Earth Cables

Seen loads of ali in houses. Usually find it is copper coated ali. So, on initial view yu think it is copper, then when you have a bit in your hand (even little off cuts from re-terminating) you realise it is ali. And looking at the end confirms it. It is usually ok, just have to be careful with...

Given that about 50% of our leccy is produced using gas, When you stop using gas, your are using gas :ROFLMAO:

What's comes first EV connector or PV + batteries

If you are really keen on getting the additional panels fitted I would get them done first, for multiple reasons. It would be more expensive to get someone to re-visit to fit the additional panels rather than fit all panels whist there. you don't currently own an EV, so why put a point in for...

What's comes first EV connector or PV + batteries

You have to consider the payback period. how much will it cost you to get the panels up there and operating? If you generate 1000kWh for the year AND self consume 100% of it, that is only a saving of about £270 (based on todays figures). Yes I know energy prices are likely to go up, but still...

smart meters & off peak pricing

It's almost like they are reading a pre-written book that we all know the ending to... Deffinately a master plan behind it all. It's frustrating to see it unfold, if nothing else.

Anything further north of straight East to West, I personally wouldn't bother. Others may have different views, but for me even straight east or west is a push. It looks good now, but autumn through winter to spring, it isn't going to look so pretty.

    Cable to garage

Feel free to ask anymore questions. You say you are a sparky by trade? do you happen to have any test equipement? either a stand alone loop tester or a multi-function tester? Realistically, so long as you're not on a TT earth system or a TNS close to it's limit of allowable measurement. You...
