    cooker trips CDC

I meant you replaced the oven and that turned out not to be the fault.

    cooker trips CDC

This is a lesson why fault finding by swapping random parts (in this case the cooker which I assume means oven) can be more expensive that just getting an electrician to do some proper testing to determine exactly what is wrong.

    Electric mains meter puzzle

It is a function built into some meters so if you reverse the connection hoping it will run backwards, you will be caught out. Nothing to worry about if you have solar PV but you would do well to install a diverter to use excess power for water heating instead of exporting it unless you are...

New Induction Hob No Earth Terminal

And C it's a maximum of 3kW total between (assumed) 4 zones, so less than 1kW per zone. It will be a pretty poor cooking experience. I would take it back and get a proper one.

New Induction Hob No Earth Terminal

If it is capable of operating from a 13A plug, then it is a pretty low power induction hob. Shame the quality makes have sunk this low.

DC HOME - HVDC CL4 / FMPS Solar System (possible)?

So I started googling "CL4 transmitter" and got the impression it is a very low power POE device. Where that plays a part in a PV system beats me. But if you feed it with HVDC from a PV string, I doubt it will do anything after a few milliseconds.

New Induction Hob No Earth Terminal

It looks as if the whole thing is in a plastic case. Is there a double insulated (square within a square) symbol anywhere at all on the appliance?

National grid Standardisation of fuse to 80A article

100A is standard here. Even my "12KVA" supply has a 100A fuse.

    Tesco solar panels

Yes and that should be stopped. But the DNO inflexibility and desire to squeeze money out of their customers does not help. Where I am they made it clear there would be network update costs if I want to have more than 3.68Kw of PV. I DO want more. I self use almost all i generate, and if I...

    Tesco solar panels

It should be a no brainer that all industrial / commercial buildings, that use a lot of electricity in the daytime, should cover their roofs in solar panels. They are ideally placed to self use all or most of what they generate. I bet stupid DNO rules on export make it complicated or expensive...

I encountered some of that on a job once and thought what a good idea.

    Plumber strikes again

I was there to "replace all the sockets with new and swap some singles to doubles." The best I can offer with that, is get the plumber back, if they can remember who it was to remove the radiator and I can fit a blank plate with it terminated inside in wago's. Even the house owner had not...

Wiring for small water heater and underfloor heating

That will be manufacturers arse covering so if their device fails and trips the circuit, they don't get a claim for a lost freezer full of food.

Wiring for small water heater and underfloor heating

See bits in bold. With a condensing boiler fit WET under floor heating fed from the boiler. BUT only if you can get a very minimum of 100mm of kingspan or similar PIR insulation. That will probably nean digging up the existing concrete slab digging down more and re laying. If you hope to...

Wiring for small water heater and underfloor heating

No1, I assume you mean a boiling water tap like a Qooker or similar? Brilliant things. They plug into a 13A socket in the sink unit. Electric under floor heating. WHY? Direct electric (resistance) heating is the most expensive way to heat anything, then add to that it is then only viable if...
