One more debatable C&G exam question!

Mock exam questions very often do not crop up in the real exam. Your tutor sounds typical of the modern system, they follow the guidelines and can offer no argument because they are clueless and technically inept.

    Another C&G level 2 question

Look at figures 3A1 to 3A6 in Appendix 3. Don't worry it is not on the hand outs you are learning how to navigate BS7671.

    C&G 2365 example questions unit 203

I agree that is poorly worded.

    C&G 2365 example questions unit 203

Question 1 sort of answers itself, absorbent in the question watertight in one of the answers. Question 2 I would argue there are two answers. b) long vertical runs place undue stress on conductors. c) premature collapse in the event of a fire (see Section 521). Question 3 you are correct.

Off peak supply and on peak in one board

Mmm what do I need. Let me think, I've got it a dual tariff consumer unit.
  6. Fleeting

    Which circuit is appropriate ?

I assume you don't have an electrician on board?

Light fault 'tripping' RCD on the ring circuits.

No in the UK there are no legal restrictions on people carrying certain electrical works although some of it must be notified there is nothing stopping the home owner from doing this.

Light fault 'tripping' RCD on the ring circuits.

Didn't see the top line in #1. Not 100% sure to be honest.
  9. Fleeting

Light fault 'tripping' RCD on the ring circuits.

Being in Southern Ireland it would be illegal unless you are an REC to interfere with your consumer unit.

Light fault 'tripping' RCD on the ring circuits.

Are you sure the light isn't tagged from the power circuit?

    New cable

Be fine just sleeve any damage.
  12. Fleeting

How much am I bid ?

    It isn't untidy.
  13. Fleeting

    New cable

From my collection of random cable.

    New cable

Installed some of this at Pinewood Studios in the late 80s have no idea where they obtained it from could have been specially made as they had their own ideas there.
  15. Fleeting

    Just wondering, why bother?

They are commonly used to joint cables.

    3kW heater - 2.5mm T+E - 32A MCB?

Many commercial fan heaters will have it's rating in KW along with a separate rating for the motor. As they are not solely resistive they are not fixed loads.
  17. Fleeting

    3kW heater - 2.5mm T+E - 32A MCB?

It isn't a ring final circuit.
  18. Fleeting

    3kW heater - 2.5mm T+E - 32A MCB?

They aren't fixed resistive loads, the heater incorporates a motor.

Wiring for small water heater and underfloor heating

No each final circuit requires separate circuit protection.
