    Wago wiring correctly

I'll happily admit when WAGOs first came out I had a selection box of the various types and kept putting off using them. Finishing off a rewire the last thing to do was replace a charred, brittle batten lamp holder in the loft and test. I removed the old batten holder and realised I had an...

    Hotpoint washing machine F05

With the power isolated, will the pump rotate by hand? As in stick a chopstick down there and see if it spins freely. Last one I did had a stuck hair clip. Previous to that a Pound coin, bra wire etc.

    1970s fuseboard advice

It looks like this inside. They might be Type 1 & 2 as opposed to Type B & C which had slightly different current curve characteristics. Think it depends on whether white or yellow writing on them. They are circuit breakers not fuse wire.

    RIP Sidewinder

I just came on to answer your earlier post but found it gone. Why? If the mods don't want the post added to then lock the thread for further replies but again why the messing? It's rather besmirching @Sidewinder 's memory tbh.

    RIP Sidewinder

Hello there. I've not been on here for a couple of years now (stuff). Thursday I found some old packaging from Paul so thought I'd dip in. He'd helped me with some work stuff and we'd spoken a few times by phone. When I went back to him he was too ill to help again but put me onto another...

    Identify Roof Rail Extrusion

@binky , is there a rule of thumb for how many mounting brackets I need for solar thermal panels? Rough plan is stainless brackets onto the rafters, then galv Unistrut, then the panels on that. Cheers

    3D Printer Enclosure

Yes, I'm not even going to attempt to sketch it at this time of the morning and with only one coffee in me but something like this from the top down: 1 - Unadulterated Makita battery top keeping the battery contacts and push button spring arrangement. 2 - Interface plate the Makita battery top...

Don't butcher the Makita radio. Tbh I've a clone Makita battery that's just died. You're more than welcome to the top of that to play with. Can't post the cells as the Post Office get a bit upset. I think I started to design a universal plate that would take the top off a Makita battery but...
