If it's in the original switch and the replacement doesn't have it then there won't be any thermal over load! 😂 Brilliant saws, had mine over 30 years. Gone through a couple of switches in that time. Only just put the cap back tbh that I borrowed for my gennie.  £44 spread over 20 years, well...

Don't think so...just a bimetallic strip in there and trip coil isn't it?  I'll dig it out and scan it if I think.

It's a safety, no volt release switch. If the power goes off say because of a power cut, the machine stops. When it comes back on the saw will start up again with a "normal" switch. 

From memory, the exploded diagram we were given at college of a breaker showing its different states, is a C50. 

Wonder if I could get a replacement car? The company have designated us key workers and given us all letters to show if stopped. This on the basis we work in fire/police stations, hospitals etc as subbies. 😉
