    3D Printer Enclosure

Looks like the 3D printing will have to stop for a while. Laddo decided to go back to his uni house for a few weeks down in Brighton. Though he's finished uni I'm still paying for the house until August.  So unless I learn Cura I suppose I won't be able to bring my AutoCAD models to life.

    FLIR?.....any users out there?

Nephew has a FLIR C2 (he's a self employed server engineer). He likes it. Certainly showed the battens in my bathroom where the Celotex is between them... 😂

    Updating Electrical Drawings

Yes. I've it in writing too from the makers on the lines of "...when we get problems with X, change to Y". All I was really after with this was confirmation that "we", the ones doing the work have a responsibility to update drawings to reflect work we've done.

@Geoff1946 & @Sidewinder, the mods are approved and sanctioned by the equipment maker.

    Updating Electrical Drawings

Morning. What's the legislation that says, if as a contractor you make changes to an electrical system on site, in this case a down shop crane, then you must update and provide new copies of the electrical drawings? Something in CDM, Machinery Directive etc? Pretty sure this is a statutory...

    Australia (Brisbane)

I get shed snake skins from a mate here in the UK and dot them around the loft in the hope of deterring vermin.  Imagine finding one over in Oz and wondering where the shedder is!

    Silicone Grease

It's all up 't North to me! As is anything beyond the Dartford crossing.  It was a pleasant trip to get my lathe last weekend. The seller and his missus, nice folk.  It's many years since I've actually worked up North.

    Silicone Grease

If only you said last weekend I was in Pontefract and could have popped over! 😂 Best comment from another forum: "Rectorseal... hmm... depends what you have planned for the weekend, but I imagine it will be right up your alley 😉" Local motor factors have this so I'll pop and get some.

Thanks but I wanted it this weekend. Cheers anyways.

    Silicone Grease

You'd think but no. I get it from CPC or RS. The Rectorseal above I do have from TS (for lubing plumbing fittings). A bit like silicone grease but a tad thicker and has a more yellow / Vaseline tinge.

Wonderful stuff it is! I dip wire ends in it before I put crimps on, I dip crimps in it before I push them together, I even dip stripped wire ends in it before I put bootlace ferrules on. I smear inside limit switches over the screw terminals. I dip coax in it before I screw F plugs on etc...

Bit of lateral play at the 3-jaw chuck end. I don't know if that end collar with the Allen screw will tighten up any more? Then some backlash in the milling head: 3.5" height from bed to centre line. Currently fitted with an ML7 Myford 3-jaw chuck.  Seems for this...

I just picked up an old 3.5" Grayson lathe (from Pontefract). They get a good write up. Came with a milling head too. Has a Myford ML7 3 jaw chuck fitted: Came with a homemade angle iron bench:

It wasn't really was it? 😂 I'm feeling flippant & arsey as the lathe I went to look at last night wasn't quite what I was after so I didn't buy it. Got that "didn't get a new toy" feeling. That and maybe I should have bought it...

    3D Printer Enclosure

I get it, the little, red side tabs sit into the recesses on the tool base. One thing, if you're using the Milwaukee battery to power, specifically a Makita radio then I'm wondering if battery protection is doubly important. I mean, a radio just gets left on usually making for a nice, slow...

Really? What I do is one step up from Blue Peter! 😂 You need to look on the mig welding forum, people building CNC plasma tables with water cooled beds all from scratch etc.
