    3D Printer Enclosure

Still playing with battery adapters! Bought an 18V Duratool from CPC. Can't go wrong for £23! Confirmed it'll run off a Makita Li-ion battery, all good. https://cpc.farnell.com/duratool/d03220/18v-multi-function-tool-bare-unit/dp/TL19690 The Makita battery of course won't fit: Fired up...

I bonded my incoming, copper, oil supply pipe (not plastic coated). Used a micc clip with the insulation stripped off from memory.

    Transformer Identification

Update: I got the 120V generator bought from the States, working on 230V after changing the PCB transformer. Worked a treat on the system. I didn't leave it in there though. Fitted instead a modern equivalent from the same maker some 4 or 5 generations newer. That one needed programming via a...

What does a five year landlord electrical inspection involve?

I'm just having an EICR done on a rental. The electrician who I've used before has a strict Covid regime. Various things considered like the property should be empty or only one other person present. That person should vacate the room the electrician is working in, windows to be opened etc. Bit...

    Distance from Cookers etc

I have it. Got a feeling it might be also in the NICEIC Domestic Installer guide too or on their flash cards. I'll look in the morning.

    Distance from Cookers etc

There's an NHBC pamphlet kicking around that suggests 100mm minimum measured from the hob to the accessory. Seems a bit too close to me. Saying that mine is sub 100mm...SWMBO changed the hob position last minute 😂

There is no heatsink on the voltage regulator. See the left hand unit, on the left of the big capacitor:

    Transformer Identification

I removed the PCB transformer from the unit I bought from America which is designed for 120VAC supply. The one that burnt out was for 220VAC. A 110VAC transformer I have here puts out 117V...near enough I figure. Measuring the secondary of the trannie with my meter and it's saying 17.6VAC...

    Old Imperial Cable?

The charger and vice are mine! Most of the furniture is getting burnt, lots with woodworm which is now just furniture shaped powder.

    Old Imperial Cable?

Unfinished wiring: Weird how they didn't want anything for this charger! Or this: I wouldn't mind this cranked adjustable: Our new 3-piece 😂. Summer project I reckon: Still works!

    Old Imperial Cable?

😂 Not mine. Being sold after an elderly reclusive died locally. Reclusive is probably the wrong word, private maybe? That's one of about 10 "sheds"! The sort of place where you're confronted by head high tat and when at the end of a long day you can just see the tail light of a Morris Minor...

    3D Printer Enclosure

My chippy mate bought a couple to use new DeWalt Li-ion batteries on his old DeWalt drills same as what you want to do with your Makita. He reckons the "triggers" burnt out in both the old drills. (I hate DeWalt anyway). Doable, what you want. I'll print the parts if you want...
