    Transformer Identification

Crispy is the word I'd use! 😂Meters I have here measure up to 200MOhm. Open circuit on primary.  This is all I get on the secondary:

    Transformer Identification

Afternoon, Anyone help in identifying this PCB transformer make /spec? Other than it has a 220VAC primary originally. It's a bit cooked. There's a label says 010921 420461. Then one side is screen printed: DT-4362-1 3323012 18/04/01 Cheers

    Summer Holidays ........

We usually wangle the ferry in with the price wherever we're staying. Usually cabin/lodge type places of late. Done a couple of high spec caravan parks and years back chalets which were a bit rough. One of the best was a 5 bed detached house we rented from the owners.

    Summer Holidays ........

I always take an exotic holiday every year to a far flung place. Yes, the Isle of Wight seems but a distant memory! 😂 (Seriously I love the place).

How to isolate for CU change

I think it was me who christened the hitherto unnamed Seal Fairy, Amelie after one of my then young daughter's books?

    New RCD tripping

A quick ready reckoner is swap the RCDs over assuming they're the same spec!

    New RCD tripping

No offence mate but it clearly says in there about testing RCDs off load.

    New RCD tripping

You might get yourself a copy of Guidance Note 3 Inspection & Testing. Colloquially referred to as "GN3". Covers all your dead tests with big, pretty pictures.  As aforementioned, anything by Brian Scadden is great (imho). What you need to know with no waffle. He was a nice man too.

    New RCD tripping

Been up in the loft? Got any rat chewed cables, junction boxes under leaks, even mice and slugs in junction boxes etc, outside fittings and so on.

How to isolate for CU change

+ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6mm-AL-CU-METER-SECURITY-SEAL-SEALS-WIRES-FERRULES-MOCOPA-BS-QUALITY/352649988637? 😉 If you are going to DIY it then FFS switch the board off so there's no load when the fuse gets pulled. Belt and braces you'd wear flash PPE.

    A trip to Tony's house

I inherited a load of gear a while back from a mate's BiL who sadly succumbed to the big C. Everything from Rawlplug tools to pyro tools, a clamp meter, a couple of Eaton CUs etc. In amongst it was an 18V Makita drill, one of the black and white special editions. In immaculate nick it needed a...

    New RCD tripping

That's a bit unfair on the responders to your thread. They were offering nothing but help. You can't really complain when somebody has a gentle dig when it turns out you're working illegally. (I've seen a Hell of a lot nastier comments). I'm not making that up. The Building Regs are statutory. ...

How to isolate for CU change

Locally BG were fitting foc with a change to a smart meter. EDF wanted I think it was £40 to supply and fit but that was about 10 years ago too. They would both fit the Wylex REC2. I remember doing my own but was able to do so without touching the head fuse /seals as I had a duff, up front RCD...

    Any star gazers out there?

I thought my brother might be checking this out. Time certainly flies, reckons he hasn't use his kit on the astronomy pier I designed and built him since Nov 2016!

Has it affected you directly? My neighbour, brother's MiL, SWMBOs cousin and uncle are all dead from it.  My 90 year old Mum is in hospital now. She had a stroke but has since tested positive for Covid 19. Luckily asymptomatic at the moment .  Merry Christmas indeed.

    Romarsh Transformers

Anyone got a link to any of their data sheets / part numbering system? Romarsh were bought out by Tamura Europe Limited around 2010. Part number I have is PTK75/18 50/60HZ Only a control trannie, nothing special and I've an equivalent, was just interested in the original data. Cheers
