Heating / cooling for "battery box"

Hello @johnb2713 Look what I found. Your original post I supposed. What a journey you've made:) I came across this post looking for discussion about having a fan heater for the batteries. I came across this product Click Here I thought this was quite cool. I did not know it existed. You could...

    Thoughts please on circuit design

I see a DC breaker. I think there should be one on each string before entering the inverter. Maybe if you have updated your diagram, post it again for another peer (Binky) review :)

    Equipment for Wall Mounted Panels

Exactly,I have a very good exposure for about 5 hours in Winter, so the panels will be pretty much vertical if not entirely vertical and from April til September they will need to be a bit more inclined as the sun will be higher. I may end up building something myself as I cannot find what I...

    Equipment for Wall Mounted Panels

Hello I am trying to find equipment that allows a variable pitch when the panels are mounted on a wall. I explain, so far what I have found is either the panels are mounted parallel to the wall or with a fixed inclined we have seen photos on this forum However, I am trying to find something...

    Solar Upgrade

Hi Binky, I have learned a fair bit and mainly thanks to you but that bit I knew it even before I knew this forum existed. I have my FiT and no way I am losing it :) @stevec59 Effectively, you do not need to add more panels if you want to add batteries. However, as I have said in my...

    Solar Upgrade

Hi you surely want to keep your FiT agreement. Therefore you cannot make direct changes to your installation. eg add more panels to your existing inverter. Replace the panels with more efficient ones. In other words, anything that you changed upstream of the generation meter is likely to...

https://www.fogstar.co.uk/collections/lifepo4/products/eve-lifepo4-280ah-prismatic-cell I must admit when I see this, I am very tempted to build my own battery. "no more" constraints from suppliers. And as you have several times said, regardless of the brand (Solax, Polyntech, Growatt...

Relative Low Performance of Domestic PV System

The second string was not connected to the inverter. I hope she asked for a small compensation because she lost in generation and therefore had to purchase more electricity.

I wasn't wrong on one thing though. The battery is also a Growatt :ROFLMAO:

Always happy to be proven wrong . this is how one learns I believe. My memory is not what he used to be lol. I had read those specs (and so many others). Growatt was the equipment on one of the quote I considered at the end of summer. Well, lesson learnt for both of us. Identifying the bottleneck.

How do i connect storage battery's to my existing system.

SHP6000 that's a growatt. Since you are refering to y first installation I suspect the battery is also a growatt which have a max charge/discharge of 3.5kW. I would say the bottleneck is the battery and not the inverter.

How do i connect storage battery's to my existing system.

This is good news You may have read a post I wrote saying that originally, I thought of getting about 500kWh for that exact reason. Charge the batteries in summer and use them in Winter. Well. as you can imagine when I started to realise how much this would cost I start to think differently. In...

How do i connect storage battery's to my existing system.

How long can you keep the charge in a battery? If you charge your very large battery in summer and you don't use most of it, do you still have any left in winter?

How do i connect storage battery's to my existing system.

I can see your point John but at the price of the batteries I want to make sure I do not oversize it. Maybe I will not wait a year to buy more. I'll keep you posted. The surveyor came yesterday so very early stage :)

How do i connect storage battery's to my existing system.

Hi @Spats I have the same dilemma. Here is what I have been considering My 24hrs kWh import over a year. I buy around 5500kWh per year so per day roughly 15.5kWh. I want to be able to add more batteries (this will depend on my first year usage and what my PV are doing, but also considering...
