    Citreon dispatch 61 plate

This could be a lot of things , including water ingress, a faulty ignition switch - lighting stalk. Anything unusual happen to the vehicle before symptoms . And were  the heaters and wipers working before the lights stuck on , or were these problamatic before? Are you sure you have found all...

    Oh Joy of Joys .......

Usually if the resistor is gone it is just the low speeds that are affected. The high speed is direct from the switch. Just a tip for the future lol.  The  resistor lives in the heater duct and is an evil little chap that likes to start fires. (corsa).  I did not know it was the same as the...

    Spare me working on vehicles.

Shims in the ball joints, front brake adjustment, rear hanbrake quadrants and levers, and one of the worst if you did not have the gear-clutch removal and primary gear oil seal.  Nackered primary gear ripping the clutch plate to bits; usually requiring new crankshaft or the process started sll...

    Spare me working on vehicles.

I used to repair, buy and sell Minis when I was a lad . Mainly subrames and floorpans.  I knew them inside out and they had some evil little characteristics. One of the ones I particularly disliked was the bypass hose between the head and the block.  For a love job recently I rewired one...

    Spare me working on vehicles.

In a workshop now you nearly need two  bays for some of the most simple jobs . One to store the bits that you have to remove.  I have an old Sharan  that needs a clutch slave cylinder; piece of cake in the old days. Now it is concentric around the shaft - inside the gearbox.  Gearbox out and...

    Spare me working on vehicles.

Lol, I still do a bit of auto stuf  , but the room is getting less and less with each new model and complexity.  Soon they will need a trailer to tow the gadgets.

    Spare me working on vehicles.

One of the Mercs has to hace the bumper off to change lamps . A lot of cars are a nightmare and  need intensive stripping to change simple lamps.

LED Security light recommendations. With PIR

Not an expert on the led floodlight side of it , But when i used to fit them on the  North Sea coast only the Steinel  pir would stand the extremes.  This was quite a few years ago and I am asuming Steinel is still top quality. I am still using my 30 odd year old Steinel voltage tester too.

    hot water presssure

PS. When my sister lived in Hendon the lime scale was so bad that I had to clean the bottom of the cylinder out for symtoms similar , but not as bad as yours.  A water softening system cured the problem.  I got a plastic bucket of shale like debris from the bottom of the cylinder. The  bottom...

    hot water presssure

Agree, a  water cylinder needs a head of water for the taps to flow. The pipe that comes to to bottom of the  cylinder from the header is the one that forces the water to the top of the cyliner to the tap that is opened. It is unlikely that pipe is blocked other than the header outlet , or as...
