Question about upgrading to 3 phase

I would suggest its worth getting an electrician on board who has experience in electric boilers. Get him to do a max load calculation with and without an electric boiler. You could well get away with not having to upgrade to 3 phase (which in my experience can very quickly rack up many £k!!)...

Which set up 3.6kw or 5kw inverter

    12 panels, but of what size? ie, what is the total output of the system? ie:- 12 x 335w = 4.02kw - put it on a 3.6 with a g98 application - company 1 12 x 425w = 5.1kw - put it on a 5.0 with a g99 application - company 2 it is suggested that undersizing the inverter by 10 - 20% ish can give...

How should I gland this swa?

Just a question - don’t shoot. IF the armour is not needed for mechanical protection along its length, does it have to be connected? I guess it’s not introducing a potential 🤷🏻 Obviously it’s best practice and you would if you could

    3 to 1 connection advice

I would be concerned about what is above the light fitting. In you first photo there appears to be some more cables above the ceiling? im guessing the yellow is just a fly lead from another connector? if this is UK you should have either a red or a brown as your line conductor.

To Regs & Best Practice ?

personally I would go up to the far left socket, then across to the one next to it, then back across on through the 1st socket down under the floor and up to the 2 right hand sockets. no need to chase the longer horizontal bit. However, as it is it complies to regs. where is the network socket...

Electric sockets for outside but undercover!

The family friend who is going to wire it up - can we assume he is a qualified sparks? your first point of call should be him to find out what he will be happy to sign off - its his name on the certificate and his liability. If this is not the case I would advise engaging a qualified person to...

    No Earth

This is just my thoughts, but as somebody who like to play by the rules this all sounds very strange. Firstly, what is an electrician (presumably part of a CPS scheme) doing extending the DNOs cable - im sure this wouldn't be coved under his insurance or acceptable to his CPS supplier, and...

    Need your expert opinion

so when you turned of the heating and water for 24hrs did the meter reading stay the same? for the other days making up the £75, what was the unit usage? you need to be looking at what the actual unit usage is on the incoming meter then work out where that consumption is being used. Back to...

    2 systems

Hi Tried to research this but struggling to find the answer!! Can you have 2 separate solar PV systems with batteries on the same incoming supply? Looking at 3.5kw on the roof and 6kw on an outbuilding, both with batteries and hybrid inverters. The grid export would be limited. Wondered whether...

    Electrical certificate?

I think you will find that the MK A type RCBO doesn't line up with the old busbar (part number ends in an S).

    Electrical certificate?

He might have put RCD/RCBO due to the supply characteristic 🤷🏼‍♂️ could be a TT system? MK only do an AC type to fit that board. As Binky said, a separate board would have been the best option IMO
