60amp domestic supply is an upgrade necessary

Builder is 95% talking nonsense. If it was as simple as changing a fuse then yes, upgrade the supply, but it isn't as simple as changing the fuse and you don't need to. The electric oven will be fine, nothing else you have sounds like it is anything to worry about. My own house has a 30A main...

fireplace central heating with an extra electric water heater.

Does lead contamination only occur in hot pipes? I think the 'don't drink from the hot tap' thing is because of the stored water. Fairly common on commercial properties. Was very rare to remove a header tank from a school or small office block and not find pigeons and rats in them.

fireplace central heating with an extra electric water heater.

I never said you would, that is why you generally have a hot water tank with an indirect coil.

For the neutral yes, follow the live though...

fireplace central heating with an extra electric water heater.

I think you've got a few systems mixed up there. Having a back boiler doesn't mean you can't drink water from taps.

    Would you mention this

Technically nothing wrong as such, but it isn'r right and is at odds with good workmanship so I'd mention it. Maybe even just some relevant labelling would cover it?

    Earth Bonding

There isn't a requirement for there to be. You should get an electrician in to check if there is any bonding and where it is as these gas folk seem to assume that if it isn't in the meter box then it must be missing.

    Amazon delivery:

CPC are the worst for chucking small stuff in big boxes, but Farnell are the complete opposite. I have ordered mediumish sized reasonably fragile items and they just get jammed in a jiffy bag and arrive broken. Screwfix don't like using any packing at all. I ordered a type A metalclad board and...

    4% deduction from invoice?

There's several different levels of CIS. I think if you are just a subby you get a CIS4 card, but if you are the middle man (as per Evans Electric) then the company should have a CIS6 (or maybe 5) card which means you don't pay the subbies tax but you pass it up the chain to the main contractor...

    Samsung Washing M/c

Not usually any issues with Samsung. Either your mate or his useless supplier is a bit on the unlucky/heavy handed side.

Maybe the OP wanted to know how to rescue the stuck rat?

    Changing energy suppliers .

I had the same thing the other year, only nPower could remove their prepayment meter and all they could do was put me on their standard tariff. The day they changed the meter I switched suppliers.

HAES SYSTEMS SURVEYOR FIRE ALARM PROBLEM -- HELP

Again, there's not much info to be gleaned from the indicators other than there is a sounder fault. Maybe if you post your location someone can advise further as to a reputable nearby member? You are not going to get any clearer an answer than that unfortunately without someone physically...

HAES SYSTEMS SURVEYOR FIRE ALARM PROBLEM -- HELP

You need to get someone to look at the system as it is faulty, as has been said. Are you trying to fix this yourself? Not a good idea if you have absolutely no idea what it does or how it works.

    Apprentice gets job !!!!

A few years ago I couldn't move for electricians round my way, hence why I moved back up north. Now it seems a lot of people have realised that a lot of these other guys are useless so it has picked back up again. In the meantime though, work keeps coming in from the north. Gist is, if you are...

    4% deduction from invoice?

There's a few things it could be. Early settlement discount deducted from wrong account (although that was commonly 2%), accounts department fat fingered the transfer, work order filled out wrong.....

    4% deduction from invoice?

I'd have thought the best people to be ask would be the company you did the work for?

    Main switches

Just to clarify, split con is 3 core. Concentric cable is 2 care and that is what the supply people use. What exactly is the grey area with split con? Is it the same as the grey area of SY?

    Domestic Fused Spur wiring route

To the exact letter of the regs, yes. But it's behind a wardrobe so hardly likely to be used so it can almost be ignored, and in all probability neither socket will come close to drawing anywhere near the cables maximum rating. I wouldn't have much of an issue with it TBH, but even with a fused...
