Don't like being bull shined .

Same with just about any brand you can buy in Currys. Most of it isn't what you think it is, it is all just Chinese tat with a badge on it, even if you recognise the badge you might still want to check the label carefully.

    Apprentice gets job !!!!

They all seem to speak some sort of pseudo pidgin English up there so you'd probably be able to muddle though.

    ADE Optima / Accenta

What bell, panel info is irrelevant. The LEDs flash with just 12V applied, nothing to do with the panel. Having said that though, doesn't really matter anyway. Some do go dim, either with things wearing out or with the box ending up full of crud. When was it last serviced? Probably time for a...

    Megger

Check out EEVBlog on Youtube for loads of meter teardowns/reviews/failure mode tests. There's a decent bit of video I watched a while ago on this very subject of meters across mains when set to ohms, was an excerpt from a Fluke factory tour IIRC. Showed some cheap meters just exploding when...

HAES SYSTEMS SURVEYOR FIRE ALARM PROBLEM -- HELP

Without looking at the manual it is showing there is a fault. That's about as much as you can ascertain without opening it up and testing it.

    Apprentice gets job !!!!

It's in the right area, wires and electricity at least. Probably not a bad idea, never know who he'll meet on his travels. I did some days with a meter fitter when on work experience and met quite a few electricians.

Final posting on these wonderful devices !!!

So you wouldn't be interested in any of mine then? I am pretty sure I have a pack of those for some reason. Think these were triple gang ones.

Final posting on these wonderful devices !!!

Do you want some of mine? Still got about 30 or 40 odd. I know a bloke who buys them for 50p each, not worth the hassle of postage tbh.

Last light off PIR flickers every 10 seconds when on?

I'll take your money. If the wrong cores were used would you even get a flicker?

Bet you get lots of shocks !!!!!

It's fine, we have RCDs now....

    Isn't it a shame...

I'm equally as arsey and bad tempered in real life.

    shed wiring for welder use

But not the ones that say 'for fixed wiring only' 'use a 16A supply'.

    shed wiring for welder use

Not sure what your point is, you said they probably try and tell you it can run off a 13A plug. They don't.

    shed wiring for welder use

You're as bad as the OP. Nowhere does it say this, not on the website or in the instructions. Both say the complete opposite.

    shed wiring for welder use

I'm guessing none of them are electricians. Best advice is get the guy installing it to size it correctly as required.

Where have you got 10 or 16mm  from? Are you just plucking figures out of the air?

    Light won’t turn off

Umm, no. Don't do that. You have assumed a lot of things, mostly incorrectly.
