Old Garage Roller Door drives down on up or down command

Neighbour asked me round to look at his roller door on his garage last weekend, whenever he pressed UP or down on his remote the door would drive down, and I suspect as it was driving down on the up command it wasn’t cutting out on the bottom limit, I had to knock the power off as it was...

Sunnyboy Inverter - Device Disturbance ...

Sounds like brix you are more than capable of fitting it, as Binky says don’t mix up the strings, and isolate the AC and DC supplies to the inverter.

Sunnyboy Inverter - Device Disturbance ...

Takes about an hour, fairly easy if you know what you are doing, the trouble is you have to cut off the DC plugs going into the Sunny Boy as they are not MC4 and just about every other inverter inc the Solis takes MC4 connectors which from memory are supplied maybeeees. So you will need MC4...

Get a Solis, as previously mentioned, 5 year warranty, 1/2 the price, don’t forget to buy the WiFi dongo thingy that is sold separately and from memory costs about £30, allows you see your generation on your app so that you know all is ok.

    22Kw motor isolator

Does anyone still use star delta starters now other than training centres as an exercise in contactor control. I have been in industry since 1981 and the last one I saw in proper use was the early 90’s I think and that plant is flattened now. Edit. I have just remembered, I saw one in an Eastern...

    Solar System Review

My inverter is in the attic mounted on brick wall and has had no issues with over temp, had other issues but that’s another story. Noticed that my loft is a lot cooler since the install of the panels.

    Solar System Review

Would have taken a fair bit of board modification as it is a dual RCD board.

    Solar System Review

They did right keeping them separate, it is for the best as it stops any issues with your main consumer unit RCD tripping times being effected by the inverter back feeding it.

    New Armeg Competition

I suppose it is economics, I started in the industry in 1981 and roofing bolts have been getting used certainaly since I started where a proper machine screw and nut is not required, as in fastening long runs of cable tray together. For the cable trays runs we would use vast quantities of...

What type of conduit for outdoors lighting?

Not sure how UV stable it is, got a feeling I have dealt with a bit a few years ago that was outside as it was shattered, when I was removing it it just disintegrated in my hands as it was so brittle. Not sure if it was just a cheap bit bit of trunking or if it is a general thing with plastic...

What type of conduit for outdoors lighting?

Blow torch the dampness out before putting the pot on, or as you say make it of indoors if possible.

What type of conduit for outdoors lighting?

Or a nice bit of Pyro, ah those were the days. OP only reminiscing, no one would fit a bit of Pyro now.

New to UK - general 13A Socket question

Plus those horrible and dangerous so called child protector plastic covers that mis informed people put into the sockets didn’t help the spring contacts in the sockets, due to them being made to no standard and so could be oversize, See “Fatally Flawed” for those who are hearing or come across...

New to UK - general 13A Socket question

Remember in UK the Circuit Breakers or RCBO’s or fuses in a consumer unit are designed to protect the cable going to the socket, not what is plugged into the socket.

    SMA inverter repair

Or replace it with another brand, may be cheaper than trying to get yours repaired, I checked for obvious burnt connections on mine and the voltages at certain test points, which didn’t help, so I ended up changing mine for another brand which was 1/2 the price of a SMA and had a 5 year warranty...
