    Wiring diagram with cable size/spec

Put in a two, three or four way duct then the PV installer can pull through what they like and you have the option in the future to pull in other cables.

    MR16 GU5.3/GX5.3 led lights

Said it would not be popular, but it is swapping out a 40watt or so SES to a 4 or maybe 5watt LED, its up to the individual, I would not recommend this in a customers premises, the only problem I have found is being an SES fitting it's recessed into the lamp holder, therefore the GU10 fitting is...

    MR16 GU5.3/GX5.3 led lights

Wont be popular as its outside the manufacturers design, but these: https://www.toolstation.com/spare-lampholder/p93364? had exactly the same fitting distance, diameter and insulation to the old SES fittings I had, I am sure there is a solution to your conundrum, Oh yes I do not recommend doing...

Storage Heater Doesn't Always Heat Up?

Not sure I understand that, if its "not heating up at all" how can it blast out hot air? Does running the boost heat it up?

    Another Solar Noob

My thoughts exactly, with the increasing cost of electricity it can't be a negative, I am old enough that I wont see a return on my monies, but sitting in a bank/building society earning nothing does seem a waste.

But then again we know he is no longer involved, and asking for guidance is what Forums are for, we are just asking for a place to start, and he did offer.

Complete noob looking to get solar panel advice on value

@binky if I PM my address to you could you have a look at what options I have, the main roof of the house face's South, but I have options on a large shed roof that also face's South.

    Rcbo board?

As Andy said I was referring to RCBO's not having overload protection on the neutral. SBS ceased trading in 2024 Locked to prevent being hi-jacked (again)

    Rcbo board?

Hi Dave, yes terminology is a problem, having been working in France for the last ten years on mostly three phase domestic, three phase RCD's are four pole, any single phase taken from the three phase supply is a true two pole device RCD or MCB's or even RCBO's if you can source them.

    Rcbo board?

Thanks for the feedback Dave, tell me how do they get two sensing coils inside a single module RCBO? On the single module ones I have taken apart the sensing coil is too big to be accommodated on both the line and neutral in a single module, I have also found that two in and two out and no fly...

    French Electrics

That is not an industrial single line circuit drawing, but a domestic three phase installation, three phase is common in rural France, the RCD/RCBO's are separately powered direct from the distribution block (see below) not through an RCD, regulations in France are only eight MCB's per RCD...

I sent the motor spec and what I wanted to achieve to Invertek and they told me what too buy.

    Rcbo board?

Good to know, but still need to take one to bits to see if it isolates by the required 3mm air gap on both L & N.
  18. Mike.J

    Rcbo board?

But does it isolate by the required 3mm gap? and if the fault is on the N side it will not trip at all.
  19. Mike.J

    Rcbo board?

Very clever to get a double pole RCBO into a single module, I'm still a bit sceptical, may have to buy one and take it too bits, looks from the diagram on the side of the unit that it only detects on the L side and the N side is dragged along with the L, the 1∆ is only connected to the L the N...

    EICR prosecution

Its all very well saying you can't give a price for an EICR because of all the variables, but this would apply to all trades people in all trades, what is needed is a guide line on an EICR with caveats on additional work, this would allow the customer to have an idea if they are being ripped off...
