    meter problem

Don't you just set the Inverter to "Zero Export" ? So that the inverter only charges/discharges the battery to the house ?

Victron setup - wiring the AC

When Off-Grid on the generator, the earth is still connected to the Earth/Neutral TN-C-S connection on the house 80A grid supply ?

Advice on setting up solar, to power a router and wi-fi

A lot will depend on your Worst Case Scenario. For instance, you get a week with no sun, like recently :-< The bridge requires 0.5A at 24V. You will require a 24 x 0.5 x 24 x 7 = 2kWh battery to keep a 24/7 connection for a week - about £300 ? And enough PV panels to keep that topped up...

    Kandor 500w radiator from B&Q

Seems to be the same as the Kingfisher-Ddd500wt151. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1826335/Kingfisher-Ddd500wt151da.html?page=9#manual To test if it's working, using the Menu and OK buttons, go to the 7th mode , which is ECO: "Constant temperature that can be set between 13°C and 29.5°C."...

Solax Inverter not compatible with Fogstar Batteries, workaround or replace?

I thought these "High Voltage" inverters required the 51V batteries to be connected in Series, to give multiples of 51V to match the Inverters 80-480V input spec ?

    Panel usage during power cut.

Not to disagree with John who knows far more than me: AFAIK a Solar inverter shouldn't work in the event of a power cut, as it needs a mains reference to work. And to prevent the possibility of mains voltage being exported to the grid while engineers are working on the fault ! Rather than trying...

    Earth Fault

If the live wire in a cable accidently became shorted to the earth wire, then the ohms resistance between earth and live would be very low or even zero. A component in the boiler that is going faulty might start to show lower than normal resistance between live and earth. For example, this...

Can i cement over our earth rod?

The cover UNG recommended can be flush-mounted in the concrete. With some plastic conduit down through the concrete for the rod. But how does the earth cable run ?

    Earth Fault

I agree with John, that "engineer" doesn't know his ohms from his holms. What a scruffy report, feels like a scam. Is the boiler working ? Ignore. Or get an electrician to check.

How do I charge my battery during a Octopus Power Up

First image - does the circle next to "Battery Enable" need to be selected ? Second Image - everything says "Enable", suggesting its not "Enabled" ?

Neff Oven not heating but element OK

I assume that as you've read the resistance of the elements, that you have a meter that can measure the voltage to the element ? Trace back to the point where the volts disappear. Thermostat, or disturbed wiring. I had a microwave oven where a spade plug had never been fully inserted and it...

    Small Earth question.

"easier carry on talking their language, so they understand what you are on about," Agreed. But whenever I reply here to a layman's question I will try to educate by saying eg "fuse box (Consumer Unit or CU)" and use CU in the rest of the reply.

    ROLEC caravan hook up issues

The Rolec brand RCBO on Rolec EVSE car chargers often go into meltdown, despite revisions of design over the years. Garo brand replacements have proved to be reliable.

    255v - stopping ev charger

I'm missing something here. Won't a lower resistance cable to the house equal lower voltage drop equals even higher voltage at the house ?
