Any recommendation for 3.6kW Hybrid Inverter?

Just be aware that the Fox ESS Inverters are "High Voltage", they require at least two 48V batteries in series to give that "High Voltage".

    Van security

There's a video of a UK electrician observing Norwegian electricians. To his amazement the Norwegian's sign-written van had glass windows in the back doors, and the thought of anyone breaking in was an alien concept. Some of the actions of UK criminals fills me with disgust and shame.

    Have I F'd up?

A User Manual or Instruction Manual tends to describe how to install and use an item, with some specifications included. So the Specification or Data sheet has the fine detail. This image is from a data sheet, the current manual doesn't mention the battery voltage, older ones online do.

    Have I F'd up?

I looked at a Fox ESS until I spotted in the spec that it needed an HV battery arrangement. Not your run of the mill Hybrid Inverter, the majority being "48V". Two Pylontechs in series will work to give "100V", but I only have one, and "48V" isn't enough.

    Backup loads

Whatever method you use to power some circuits from the PV and battery during an outage, you must be certain that there are no situations where power can get back into the grid, for the protection of "line workers".

Two 100A incomers , so two Current Transformers ?

Good point Ronski, but I would have thought the total grid draw would be important for the inverter to know ? Or maybe that would confuse the Inverter into discharging the battery more than it needs to satisfy the house CU demand ? I think that the battery only supplying the house CU is not a...

Who sets the Economy 7 settings - me or Scottish Power

There is probably an adjustable thermostat on the side of the cylinder.

Who sets the Economy 7 settings - me or Scottish Power

From what I can see of the Gledhill Eco system, it heats at Scottish Power's E7 times of either 00:00 to 07:00 GMT (i.e. 01:00 to 08:00 BST in summer) or 00:30 to 07:30 GMT (i.e. 01:30 to 08:30 BST in summer). And you can override that at any time, but will be using peak time electricity.

Two 100A incomers , so two Current Transformers ?

Have just seen a video that said a CT could be clamped onto the neutral. There's a single neutral exiting the 100A RCD that appears to be the N for everything ?

Two 100A incomers , so two Current Transformers ?

The Sunnyboy Solar Inverter is off to the left of the image, the isolator bottom right switches AC from the inverter. A cable runs from the isolator under the mounting board to H. The grey cable at D goes from H to a MCB in F. The AC Battery Inverter is to the left of the Sunnyboy

Two 100A incomers , so two Current Transformers ?

A Two incoming overhead cables B Two 100Amp fuses C Off-Peak Timer and Contactor G 100Amp 30mA RCD, two live outputs, to Storage Heaters and House CU I was going to clip the CTs to the live cables from G.

Two 100A incomers , so two Current Transformers ?

Thanks for the replies. Yes there are two (2) 100A fuses. I'm on Economy 10, and EDF advised me they can't fit a "Smart Meter" for E10. There is no common point to measure the grid feed in/out.

Two 100A incomers , so two Current Transformers ?

My house has two 100A main fuses. Effectively one to feed the storage heaters. And one to feed the CU. Via an Off-Peak contactor system. 1. So for the Storage Battery Inverter to accurately measure the grid feed in/out, I believe I will need two Current Transformers, one on each of the 100A...

    Some Electrics Have Stopped Working

The RCD trips when the Earth Leakage, as MCBs 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 are switched on, exceeds the RCD 30mA rating. So without 8 (the cooker) and/or 12 (the outside?) the RCD doesn't trip. I'd try resetting 9, 10, 11, 12 (not 8) and leave for a while. If that's okay, try 8, 9, 10, 11 (not 12)...

question on power usage following a new PV installation

Glad the app wasn't as poor as you made out. "As an arthritic 68 year old retired bloke I am not going to be clambering about in my loft to read the inverter panel any time soon. Particularly in this heat." An inverter in the loft. In this heat ? My inverter spec says "Derating over 45C"

question on power usage following a new PV installation

If the Solis app doesn't show graphs like the GroWatt shown, then it's a pretty poor app, as the OP said. He'll need to get up early and monitor the front panel display to get the real story.

question on power usage following a new PV installation

Is there an app for the Solis that will show a 24 hour graph of house load, PV output, battery input/output, and grid input/output ?
