    Optimisers are they really needed?

Would I lose the ability to analyse the performance of each panel if I didn’t install optimisers? How would I know if one panel isn’t working properly? Is this a realistic worry?

    Optimisers are they really needed?

We have an installation going in in the next couple of months and heve been reading a fair bit about the necessity of optimisers In an installation. We basically, have a roof surface that does not have any shadows cast on it from anywhere at any times of the day and I’m not sure if adding...

I thought the 40p was supposed to be capped to 33p by the govt?

    New quote…Finally!

Wow. 3kwh today? Not sure where you are but here in Wales we’ve had an amazing summers day with nearly 9hrs of full sun! What is the heading of the first column - Battery xxxxx ?

    New quote…Finally!

I’d like to get 20 panels on the roof but apparently it’s not possible. Our consumpton is around 16kw a day so that’s why we’d like a 15kwh battery setup. We also have an EV to complicate matters..

    New quote…Finally!

Yup, octopus go to top up the battery at night and use the PV plus battery in the daytime. Pretty usual setup, I imagine!

    New quote…Finally!

Around £16-£17k depending on exact final spec. Not sure if that’s competitive nationally!

So, what’s wrong with Pylontech batteries?

Thanks guys, availability is severely affecting choice. These things are hard to come by!

Playing the Devils Advocate for a bit.

Hear me out.. Once more and more people start installing batteries and PV systems and the electricity companies start to feel their daytime usage profits slipping, what’s to stop them simply raising their off peak prices substantially or dropping them altogether to keep their profits high? Many...

    New quote…Finally!

We have been asking around for a 15kwh (ish) system and have finally had a quote that seems to use something different. Can you guys take a look and let me know if this stuff is decent quality? The actual list is pages long but the core of it is this: Trina Vertex S 390W All Black Mono solar...

So, what’s wrong with Pylontech batteries?

So, are Victron Invertors and Pylontech batteries totally compatible? I heard it from another installer today that Pylontech is “entry level” product. I asked him what he meant by that and he said that the product and the management software was not ‘polished’ and lacked features. I didn’t know...

So, what’s wrong with Pylontech batteries?

Is there anyone who’s had had warranty / reliability with either brand? We‘re looking to get the most reliable for our budget and just need some impartial or owner advice please! We can’t afford to make a mistake at these prices!

So, what’s wrong with Pylontech batteries?

We’ve had a couple of quotes now and both companies are recommending GivEnergy kit over Pylontech saying that theres no support once you’ve bought Pylon stuff. Both installers say that they’ve got customers waiting for parts and replacement units for many months often leaving the whole solar...

Confused about what spec system to get. Can anyone help?

Firstly, can I apologise for any incorrect terminology- I frequently get my kw mixed up with kWh etc! - Our annual consumption is around 6000kw /16kw a day - We have enough space on our roof for 18 panels (2 rows of 9) - We’ve been advised to get anything from a 5kwh to a 19kwh battery system. -...

Very thirsty Samsung fridge / freezer

With all the crazy price increases going on, we’re looking at everything in the house and trying to see what’s eating the 6000kwh we consume every year. We have a very old Samsung American style fridge freezer thats probably nearly 20 yrs old that’s never given us any trouble. it has no energy...
