We had the clamps moved further apart and this improved things a bit. When Pod Point finally got back to us, they updated our unit and it now works. It's a shame it took them two weeks, but we now have a working system.

Various things at the moment, mainly what we have tried and detailed above, but this should not be happening. It's made the car extremely unreliable. They are looking at it, but a bit of self research is always good. I'm interested to see if others are having similar issues.
