    Growatt battery not discharging

Ahh! Apologies! At least one of pv and smart meter must be wrong.... I appreciate this is probably too much hassle to check, but to help fault finding, it's often useful take it down to the simplest level and remove as many variables as possible. What happens if you turn the pv system off...

    Growatt battery not discharging

(Consumption + export)=(pv generation + battery discharge) Consumption > solar, so it's using some battery to supplement? It could be drawing from grid to fill the gap, but it's using battery instead so saving money. I've not re-read the whole thread, am I missing something?

    Growatt battery not discharging

Hi, just following this thread out of curiosity, I know now't here, but ... I had a look at the SPH3000-6000 Quick guide to compare against your IMG_3745. Where it says "two holes", there are two red cables and two black cables, presumably from battery, entering it. There is also a grey...

MCS - and how to move forward

Hi, sorry, can't comment on MCS, other than to say from reading forum that it seems essential if exporting to grid. If you're intending to export a lot you'd be wise to contact your DNO in advance and check how much they will let u export. All have to allow 16A/3.6kW, more than that is by...

MCS - and how to move forward

Hi Robin Can't comment on MCS, but the inverter size feels a bit small for the no. of panels. How many kwh pa are you using, it feels like a big installation for 2 ppl?

    Installers for Victron on-grid kit?

Right that's it, my memory is fired!

    Installers for Victron on-grid kit?

Thought it was DNO but perhaps it National Grid? [Edit, it's NatGrid https://www.nationalgrideso.com/electricity-explained/electricity-and-me/esos-demand-flexibility-service]

    Installers for Victron on-grid kit?

From reading the forum posts it sounds like you have a bit of a head start on me wrt electrical knowledge! I have wired a plug and changed a fuse, changed a light fitting, and built my own PC I guess. Setting aside my dubious practical skills for now... Is 100% DIY feasible and still be able...

    Installers for Victron on-grid kit?

Hehe, hehe, it's a good job I'm not an electrician the number of times I get my wires crossed! I was referring to the DNO incentive offering money to use less elec at critical times, which sadly is not gained from export. I could just about hear the bloodhound sniffing the scent of a money...

    unvented cylinder and immersion divert

This is going OT, perhaps i should start a new thread.... Sorry to say but, personally I'm not keen on woodburners. We have someone up the road with woodburner and PV. It's awful when the burner is running and there's light wind as the fine particulates make us cough so much we have to close...

    Installers for Victron on-grid kit?

Whilst I would be aiming to use as much solar in the house as poss, and thinking of 12-15ish kWh of battery to start with, in summer with 8-10kWp of PV, [edit] all suggests kWh well in excess of battery storage, even with an Eddi. [End edit] So it would seem churlish to ignore export to help...

    Installers for Victron on-grid kit?

The impression I have from activity on the victron forum there seems to be a good deal of off-grid usage being done, e.g. south africa, usa. Also a strong marine following, however much less grid-tied as far as I can tell. Perhaps with the exception of the easysolar product victron don't seem to...

Should I stay or should I go? 😶

In the time I've been here there seems remarkably little real argument or nastiness which is quite refreshing compared to some other forums. Please stay, the forum is a better place with you here and your efforts to help.

    Thanks for the clarification ;-)

    unvented cylinder and immersion divert

Thanks folks :-) IIRC I think the socket the immersion plugs into is on the same circuit as the gas boiler and the dolphin shower pump all of which are in the loft, but I'm avoiding going to see what's what up there as I don't fancy being broiled alive at the mo! Heating has a separate rcd at...

    unvented cylinder and immersion divert

I did a google search and a forum search and looked at myenergi website but didn't see an answer anywhere to this specifically, so I presume there are no problems with this,... Probably a daft question, but just to be sure... I have a combi gas boiler for central heating and hot water, the hot...

Solis 3kW AC coupled Inverter & Fogstar 5.12kWh Rack Battery ?

Gotcha. note to self : I really must learn to not skim read post before pitching in with comments  ! Cool, congrats, hope it pays for itself in good time and the fogs prove reliable

Solis 3kW AC coupled Inverter & Fogstar 5.12kWh Rack Battery ?

So you can now export to grid without MCS involvement?
  20. B

Should I be applying to the DNO to increase my output?

Two ac coupled 3.6 can be linked and communicate iirc, so they shouldn't 'fight', however there is only 2.5kw from battery from single unit iirc, it supposed to scale with no. of inverters I think.
