are my wall lights class 2?

Hi Nick, welcome to the Forum. Is the light CE marked? Does it have a box within a box symbol on it? And what do the installation instructions say? Sorry for the Qs  but we need to know whether it is legit or lashed together.

    HELP on This Question PLS

I am glad you got the 3 answers to your questions. What are the answers? And using Tony's formulas or otherwise, what is the overall resistance of the circuit? Locked to prevent hi-jacking

    HELP on This Question PLS

Hi Frank and welcome. You will need to use Ohms Law to work out unknown values from known ones, I find this calculator useful http://www.ohmslawcalculator.com/ohms-law-calculator Post up your answers as Andy says and we can go over them Oh and it is probably best to edit out your email...

8mm microbore rad not getting hot

Luke, you used the Force, and it was strong, and hopefully the stains are not on the dark side.  Well done.

8mm microbore rad not getting hot

Luke, nip down the hardware store and get some 2mm or 2.5mm steel wire.

Yeah forget that then, just wanted some electrical tests. :) Luke, best get the floorboards and carpet back down before you second pair of ears gets back.

continuity between the two radiator pipes with rad disconnected then between working pipe and manifold then between dodgy pipe and manifold what readings?

8mm microbore rad not getting hot

looks like only one manifold, so either flow or return. The other might be behind soil pipe or in other boxing elsewhere. The fittings are Yorkshire fittings and are soldered. The blue stuff is factory applied protection against mechanical and chemical damage, so that they can be laid in...

8mm microbore rad not getting hot

those are the manifolds, flow and return for downstairs rads, excellent find inspector. Not seen any like that before. Instead of spiders, they look like octopi, (or sextopi?) and the spare ends look like they have been capped with putty. Are they 3.5 meters pipe run from dodgy rad valve...

8mm microbore rad not getting hot

do you have downlighters in the ceilings of the ground floor? Sometimes it is easier to pull down a fitting and have a look rather than lifting floorboards. you can get your phone up in there too and take pics of areas you cant see directly.  Take care pulling down fittings, the clips bite. And...

8mm microbore rad not getting hot

where is the boiler? I would think the two 22mm pipes go straight to the cylinder cupboard from the boiler (probably via where cat sleeps) then the flow pipe splits using one 3-port or two 2-port motorised valves. One flow pipe going to the cylinder for hot water, the other going back down under...

Welcome Al, Season's Greetings. I think obstacles are not allowed to be used in Domestic environments, hopefully that clears that one up.

It is looking like that ;) my money is on the upstairs hall. Where does the cat sleep?

8mm microbore rad not getting hot

I would have shut off the drain point, the (air) blockage could have cleared at any time. You might be returning to a flood Also, I would have switched off the pump after testing, it could damage it if running dry for an extended period. These are some of the risks involved in trying to fix...

8mm microbore rad not getting hot

I was thinking 2mm or 2.5mm steel wire. That 6mm snake might get stuck, and you don't want that.

8mm microbore rad not getting hot

Another thought, while it is drained, you could remove the valve and push some wire down the pipe. At least you will get an idea of how far away any blockage might be. Up to you whether you want to try this with a full header tank now, or after draining down again. Up to you.

8mm microbore rad not getting hot

yeah but, the OP had already checked the flow rate from both valves after removing the rad and found one valve to be only passing a dribble. I thought that by draining just the pipework, with all rads shut, it would remove the pressure behind any blockage so that pumping air or water up the...

Try your bike pump, tube and duct tape to blow air down the filler pipe from the header tank. Or borrow a plunger from neighbour.
