    What to do after college?

What is wrong with your eyes? Not colour blindness as this is an issue with becoming an electrician? What area are you in?

Give these a call and have a chat, I have found them to be helpful when assisting others with obtaining the NVQ. https://jtltraining.com/about-us/other-services/nvq-assesment/nvq-level-3-electrical/

And that my Poni is exactly what it’s all about. Protect the company first. If it was genuinely about individual H&S then why isn’t it mandatory when in your own home doing diy? Answer: you can’t claim against your own stupidity/accident.

It’s interesting that they don’t come as standard? Surely that’s got to be the case?

So thinking about that then, how could they justify you dying if it’s caused through the harness being fundamentally wrong by design? Surely there is a claim somewhere in that?

That’s one thing I never understood with the lanyard being fixed to the rear? Which expert came up with that idea? Or is there a reason it’s not on the front?

Given that the fall arrest is for safety, it makes you wonder how Bungee jumping was ever permitted? Do they have to have a secondary bungee attached in the event of failure of the first?

Advice on what to do next.

You will need to do the NVQ Lvl3, the AM2, you should not have to do 18th Edition as you are trained to this. Is there a reason why you only do two days a week? Are you working in a different position the rest of the week?

What is the price difference and or availability between the 70mm 90° and the 95mm 70°. ?

Not Not sure where you get that from? Running a quick calc on the 120kW would suggest 95mm?

It’s so they can be clearly seen when falling?? But then the scaffold should be built in such a way that prevents this risk?

Quite correct, that is until they actually fall or break something then they will reconsider. The human being is a species that learns by example, that being by the individual example. Showing someone a video of someone else in an accident doesn’t necessarily sink in that ‘that could be me’...

But that’s the exact common sense approach? I’m working around a lot of dust, I’m choking and coughing a lot, maybe it’d be sensible to wear a mask? Do I really need a H&S rule/guidance for that?

Handrails and kickboards are exceptable, it’s the rubbish about wearing a hard hat when the risk of something failing is negligible, or the necessity to wear gloves when 2nd fixing. I’m also annoyed with the new buzzword silica, silica has been around as long as I can remember but now it’s as...

If the person is stupid then it’s likely that they won’t take notice of H&S, so I say again you can only do what you can do and not what others can do to protect you.

And that’s the truth, too much nanny state makes the people stupid. What amazes me is that no one has the balls to say it in public authority and gladly accept whatever the H&S put out without question.
