EICR/PIR for 2up 2 down Is price excessive given extent and "limitations"

Fair enough. The problems here are around fittings..actually issues that were raised previously. e.g. where LED light was fitted at the time of an EICR and everything was left in loose in the loft in wago connectors. or unused 4th core conductors left bare. That wouldn't come up with the...

EICR/PIR for 2up 2 down Is price excessive given extent and "limitations"

Thanks. Phrasing my questions properly helps. Maybe just higher expectations of safety certificates. Lofts being prone to containing a multitude of sins. potentially cable chewing rodents. I would have just expected it. If it were me with my name on the cert i would feel i had a duty to pop...

EICR/PIR for 2up 2 down Is price excessive given extent and "limitations"

Maybe my question should be. Is it normal not to include the loft in ALL EICRs regardless? ........................ Thanks.. Yes. I do . I understand many of the limitations and find the majority entirely reasonable. the loft i find unreasonable. Thanks.. but in answer to your question.. What...

EICR/PIR for 2up 2 down Is price excessive given extent and "limitations"

Is this the norm or are corners being cut? These certs are to save lives. Can you put a price on the life of a loved one? Anyway as said, your input is usually incredibly helpful today it is not. You know the answer to this question but chose not divulge.. that's fine.. but I'm sure you've got...

EICR/PIR for 2up 2 down Is price excessive given extent and "limitations"

Murdoch, do me a favour. Be helpful or do one. Thanks! Don't know what the "Unless you are not the tenant but just claiming to be" Is this the effect of a sunny day without wearing a hat?

EICR/PIR for 2up 2 down Is price excessive given extent and "limitations"

Given there are issues with the EICRS especially in the loft space. I would strongly disagree. I'd also say that is an unusually unhelpful response for you. The question is about reducing scope of the survey in order to save pennies.

EICR/PIR for 2up 2 down Is price excessive given extent and "limitations"

Yes the 25% is definitely not circuits. I didn't realise it was opening them up. I thought it was just socket testing. So at that money you agree it would be reasonable not to check the loft & heating controls? And not doing them would not compromise the integrity unnecessarily. I understand...

EICR/PIR for 2up 2 down Is price excessive given extent and "limitations"

Location is SE. Updated original post to included it thanks. What I'm trying to gauge is; At that price, do they need to include so many limitations and exclutions regardless as to wether it is occupied. or ar they just trying to pack as many in as poss and sacrificing the integrity of the...

EICR/PIR for 2up 2 down Is price excessive given extent and "limitations"

Just wondering what cost one should have expect for an EICR or PIR in 2021. Looking through maintenance history I noted PIR for a 2 up 2 down in the SE at £613. Along with the inspection the following works were carried out: Doubled up circuit breaker c2 fitted 1 mcb wrong smoke detectors (x3)...

Discrepency between consumption data. smart meter V inhome display.at

I may be wrong with the assumption that the same data shown by the meter is sent to ihd. There may be an seperate iternal isolated circuit which provides that obtains data. I say this because with my inverter on and feeding in my ihd reading was 0+/-15w but the meter reported 1.4 amps. @243v...

Discrepency between consumption data. smart meter V inhome display.at

A direcrion to read up on. Thanks. There are no audio amps. Not sure what other devices use cap coupled psus. But different cirxuits therefore devices will react differently or give varying levels of discrepency. Thanks I was going o th basis of watts law P=IV. But how will power factor come...

Discrepency between consumption data. smart meter V inhome display.at

Current reading x voltage reading on meter is significantly more than usage in watts on the IHD. I checked the current through the tiils with a clamp meter and reading agrees with the smart meter. Why would these readings be different. Currently with 240v 1.3a which would be 320w but Ihd says...

Growatt sp2000 CT clamps and device communication.

Has anybody used one of the sp series? Have you managed to communicate to it over wired ethernet/lan port? I plug it in either with straight or crossover and router doesn't detect anything. Is that normal? It was sold without the CT clamp. How interchangeable are these clamps? WHich pins of...

    hybrid/Battery/UPS inverter efficiency-question rephrased

How ineficient are hybrid inverters when using them to store energy from the grid and convert back? How much improvement has there been on this in the past 10 years? The following graph taken from https://www.e-education.psu.edu/eme812/node/738 is around 10 years old. Would the efficiency curve...

Boris, do I underatand that your opinion is that manufacturers instructions are generally wrong? is it also your opinion that it is wrong to fit an isolator for an extractor when the extractor is on the lighting circuit?

    Combining Power Souces

Ok. I bow your expertise.. . I was under the impression it was possible but then there is the current limitation. . Its a farm not house so maybe it is 3 phase... Can 3 phases be split to 3 Consumer units without an inverter? Plus cost of poles etc. Couple on ebay 1100KVA @ £4.7K and 800KVA...

    Combining Power Souces

The other person had mentioned limiting to 24Kw so 1 cable at 600V would.. but yes i didn't dark days into account. But running AC back to the house at 415 would require massive cables. and assuming its 3 phase additional cores. Huge expense. Can old 6.6KV transformers be...

But surely a cpc of the same SA as the line and neutral would be a waste of copper wouldn't it? Extra cost of cable V a simple calc.
