    Combining Power Souces

But that would be the best especially if the daily usage on the farm can be offset against the energy production.

    Combining Power Souces

2 core SWA 35mm2 is what it says. check the link i had posted. and which is again here: Link. maybe I'm mistaken No doubt my lack of knowledge here has left me confused... How would the inverter efficiency change? Would any additional loss not be from the cable resistance./ voltage drop? And...

    Combining Power Souces

Could you not use 2core SWA here is cheaper £8/m. Why not run it at higher voltage DC? It must be forgotten that running kind of energy back into the grid would over time pay off some of the initial investment. Excelent idea re selling the service to the end user.

High bills since installing storage heaters

You could run a Airsource heatpump for a 2 bed or bigger on that amount of KW. wether it is excessive for that kind of flat is hard to say although i would think almost deffinately. much would depend on: insulation of the build (EPC) hot it is set to/ how long they are left on outside...

High bills since installing storage heaters

Each storage heater will be rated in KW. Thats 1 hours use and it equates to what you would theoretically use if it the heater was on and never got to temperature. . e.g. if your storage heater is 2Kw then if on a normal tariff that would be 68p/ hour of it being on. (assuming it was permanently...

    EICR

It's more of theoretical given the r2 in question is from 2021 and the most recent from 2022 are better but still have a bunch of other things that are suspect.

    Combining Power Souces

The question would be to enough to carry what? How much do you actually need at the house. Running at 600v and 30amp 18kw you can run through 35mm cable. 2 core swa 8.50/m about 5.3% loss on 32mm/awg2 cable. So I believe that's within max loss. At 1600 Should be less than a whole system if you...

What im doing is looking for anomalies and things that maybe ought not to have been left without investigation or alternatively had been calculated and not measured.

    Combining Power Souces

I'm not an electrician or installer.. but thoughts are: Firstly that's one hell of a home generation. What kind of pump is that for? What is your actual estimated output in those other 9 months of the year. Have the estimations been calculated? 1) If you have a higher DC voltage outage. you...

    EICR

certainly not from that period. I'm grateful everybody has been spoon feeding me. Nuts when the lack of integrity to save pennies can cost lives.

    EICR

interesting. Would 2.5/1 be found on a newish install in new colours? What about data from EICR 1 year later. No rewire done in between. so you'd expect same conductor sizes. .

    EICR

Thanks. Nice to know. That works out as expected. but if r2 aprox ≈ 1.67(r1) it's well out isn't it?

neither the tenant that moved into a place with a bunch of EICRs and suspect electrical work. I hope its ok to post this question here and it doesn't offend

Yes Socket, Yes 2.5m2 cpc = 1.5 in both cases rn = r1
  15. champagnecharly

    EICR

Not a pro. hoping this might be the best place to ask though. Looking at an EICR.. on upstairs circuit r2 = 1.17. r1 = 0.48. r2+r1 = 0.41 I'm concerned by the high r2. There is a note regards lack of continuity in cpc on that circuit which was repaired. Observation description included c2 but...

Where does poor Workmanship end and contrary to regs begin?

Would this apply when on a lighting circuit? Whilst it can be isolated at the CP. It wouldn't be convenient to perform mechanical maintenance with no lights.

Where does poor Workmanship end and contrary to regs begin?

Funny you shoudl say that. I followed the T&E back and instead of taking me to the dogs dinner around the lights it took me to here. to another dogs dinner. All 3 conductors here are unprotected. Given this connects to the fan. and there is no connection to earth at the fan.. Are there regs to...

Where does poor Workmanship end and contrary to regs begin?

EIRC was done between tenants. Thanks Yet they went back to the office and said all was fixed. At least that's what the office said. To get a better idea of when the fan was installed i though i'd check the internal connection. The cover hand been put back on properly by the electrician...

Thanks foryour oppinion and associated regs. I'm relieved its not me setting the bar too high. Your thoughts on the rest would be appreciated.

Where does poor Workmanship end and contrary to regs begin?

Hi, I have a few concerns in my home. Hope somebody can advise on how naughty the following concerns are. . Electrician came to check bathroom extractor. Couldnt find spur so didn't install and left cables as you see in photo 1. Went back to office claimed job was done. Out of curiosity...
